Love the satin pearl white wrap on LC. I’m also thinking about having my recently delivered LC convertible wrapped in satin pearl white. In 2015, I spent small fortune to wrap a 91 NSX with 3M satin pearl white. Although it looked stunning, vinyl wrap didn’t fare well against track usage and every day road rashes. It provided much less protection than PPF and I ended up removing it after 4 years of usage. It looks like it has been 3 years since you had it wrapped and I’m curious how its holding up. What brand vinyl wrap do you have on your LC? Your feedback is much appreciated.

There’s “coloured” ppf nowadays.

Also the wrap I used is thick as hell and does have protective properties (inozetec). If you’re sticking with 3m or Avery it’ll both be paper thin but it’s easier to apply for the shops.

if you were to do a wrap I think a color is better than adding to the white car crowd with some subtle change. That’s my own personal opinion. all my other cars are white sadly, so I shouldn’t even talk. RX,SC,ES are all white.

below is the survey of most popular colours in the US

White: 25.8 percent
  • Black: 22.3 percent
  • Gray: 18.4 percent
  • Silver: 12.1 percent
  • Blue: 9.5 percent
  • Red: 8.6 percent
  • Brown: 0.9 percent
  • Green: 0.8 percent
  • Orange: 0.6 percent
  • Beige: 0.5 percen
  • Purple: 0.3 percent
  • Gold: 0.2 percent
  • Yellow: 0.1 percent

The wrap on the LC is Avery and it’s held up very well. It’s taken the brunt of a lot of small rock chips and has protected the paint, albeit not as well as PPF would have. I have a satin blue wrap on my G70 and it protected my bumper rather well after a giant piece of plastic tumbled down the road and hit the front of the vehicle. I have gloss wrap on my EV6 and I’m not a fan of it as it highlights slight textural imperfections instead of hiding it like satin does. I have a BMW M4 awaiting shipment from Germany and as soon as it lands I’m getting full body stealth PPF done which will change the finish from gloss to satin. I’m going with XPEL PPF and it has a 10 year warranty.

I love how white looks on these cars. I have the OEM white (or whatever special name it's called), but after looking at your pics I may consider a wrap. I really think yours looks great.

Here is my OEM white w/ Vorsteiner wheels. There is a clone of mine with a front-lip in the same vicinity; I saw it out and about a while ago.

Question: Do you have to do anything special or different when (hand) washing the wrapped car?

Is this just powder coated? Curious. I like the look. I love the stock wheels. I have been thinking of doing this as well. but on my caviar not sure it would look as good as yours.

Yup. Those are my stock rims, just powder coated. Only cost about $800. I’m not usually a black wheel fan but on the LC it works, at least for the white. It might be a good stealth look for Caviar if you black out the emblems, too. I actually got the car wrapped a different color and added a diffuser with exhaust tips. Looks way better now.
