Default Bluetooth

Maybe I'm slow, but this one took me awhile to figure out.

For a couple of reasons, I have decided to use the Navigation on my phone rather the one in the car., at least in the short run. I used it in place of the archaic system in my ISF. I plugged it into the aux port in the console to get the sound out of the speakers. Anyway today I had the clear film installed on the front of the LC, and needed navigation to find the shop. They moved since I last used them in 2015.

So, I thought I'd just use the built in speaker in my Galaxy S8. The sound was fine, in the house, before I started. When I started up the LC, no sound. Couldn't figure it out. Later in the day I started messing with it. As soon as I turned on the ignition, no sound, even out of the car. As long as the phone was linked with the LC, no sound. As soon as I turned off the ignition - Sound. Then it dawned on me
I went into audio in the infotainment system, chose Bluetooth and voila sound through the car speakers

'aux port on the dash'

The Aux input is in the center console area. Then you need to set your media option to Aux on the dashboard screen.
BT does not require an Aux/mini cable, so it may be easier to use. IMO though you lose fidelity with music, and I use Aux for cell phone music, not BT.
BT should be fine though for cell phone navigation.

^^^^Yes, I know where the aux port is, I have a cable plugged into it, as well as cables in the USB ports. And yes, BT sure beats the in phone speaker, and fumbling with the aux cord when I want too use the phone navigation.

Sorry I wrote that when it was late, corrected The aux port is in the dash in my Silverado, however.

I leave the Aux cable inserted all the time, and have it poke out just a bit in the center area recess. So it is simple to hook up my phone.
