Default Ceramic Coating

Anyone apply Ceramic Coating to their LC, specifically the wheels? I was at a Porsche dealership in Orlando last week and a manager who was chatting with me said all of the new Porsche's come with Ceramic coated paint and wheels. The interesting thing he said was brake dust does not adhere to the wheel due to the coating. Anyone ever try this?

I had the car and wheels done. The brake dust is still heavy but washes off much easier, I am much more impressed with it on the cars paint though. Once you wash the car it appears you applied wax on it after a simple wash..

Its not a cheap undertaking, there are different levels also. The cheapest package is $799 and doesn't include paint correction, your car needs to be practically showroom new as many new cars need a little correction. The package I had done was called the Silver package and ran me $1599 for paint correction clay barring prep and wheel and caliper coverage.

I had the full front of the car covered with Xpel including the A pillars.
Then I had ceramic coating applied to the whole car, including the Xpel.
Makes it very easy to wash the car.
I rinse it first, then cover the car with foam using a foam cannon.
Then rinse it again and gently wash it with a mitt using the two bucket method.
Then do a final rinse, dry it with the leaf blower and final dry with microfiber while applying Adams Ceramic Recharge.
Result is amazing shine.
The question is how long will the ceramic finish last.
For now, I am loving it !

I just got mine done with XPEL clearbra (entire front of car, cf roof, rockers) and XPEL Fusion Plus ceramic coating. It’s the first car I’ve ever done in ceramic so curious to see how it turns out. I got a few bottles of XPEL ceramic boost to use after the wash but wondering if there are other maintenance or quick detailers that people recommend.

So that is original paint, then you apply a clear bar, then another layer of the ceramic coating? How much does your protection project cost?

Yep, clearbra with ceramic coating on top of the film and other parts of the car as well. As far as cost, mine was a bundle deal with a lot of other things and another car so not a fair comparison. But I’ve seen ceramic coating usually range from $500-1000 for anything decent.

It all ran $2,750 plus tax.
It probably can be done for less but... I didn't want to give my car to just anyone.
Based on my experience I definitely would do the whole front clear shield.
The ceramic is more of a test to see how it works and how long it lasts.
I did not had paint correction done. The car is new and did not need correction.

All you can do is use ceramic recharge.
The shop I used offered me a package to wash my car once a month for a year and apply the ceramic boost.I did not go for it.
I purchased the ceramic boost and use it every time I wash my car.
I was told that you have to be gentle when you wash the car or the ceramic will not last as long.
You can see how I wash my car on my other post.
I use minimum rubbing with the mitt and use PH balanced car wash from Chemical Brothers.
