Default "B" Pillar Alcantara Damage

Hello all,

Please check the inside or your LC's B Pillar to see if the seat-belt buckle is damaging the material when you unbuckle the latch and release the seat-belt itself. I have the toasted caramel color and there are about 5 areas where the buckle has gouged out the Alcantara. I'm guessing the impact force from the seat-belt retracting is causing the issue. There would be no other reason for the gouges because I'm the only driver of the vehicle and no one has ever been in the back seat.. The passenger side of my car is perfect.

I have the same interior and I don't have any damage. Are you using the seatbelt strap? Maybe that's why you're seeing damage?

Should have said that differently: I use the strap and maybe that's why I'm not seeing any damage on the B pillar....

I'm never anywhere near the B pillar. It's weird.

Clearly buckle damage. Don’t just fling the buckle off when you take it off.

Crazy, right? The car has less than 2K miles. I mean I drink milk and all that but damn, I'm not doing anything different than with my other cars... time make an adjustment I guess and GENTLY retract the seat belt.

The seat belt loop strap on the seat should keep the belt buckle away from the B pillar? No?

That looks like you'd have to be deliberately throwing the buckle into the side pillar to achieve that type of damage, which I'm sure you're not. Maybe someone in pre delivery did that type of damage, sucks...

I'm guessing yes. I will ask my service rep when I pick my car up. Do you have yours running through the seat-belt loop? My car was delivered to me without the seat belts running through the loop.

**Update** I just looked at a bunch of YouTube videos and some of the cars have the belt running through the loop and other do not. I'm going to put mine through the loop to eliminate this from happening again.
