Default Undercarriage anti-rust treatment?

What say those of you living in the Salt Belt? Should this be done? Is the LC's undercarriage protection robust enough? I am skeptical of Toyota's track record with respect to such things, although the LC is an entirely different creature than a Tundra, 4Runner or the like. If one does it, what product to best/safest for the car?

I live in NE as well. I've owned Lexus RX vehicles since 1999, and I've never applied any supplemental treatment. Most modern vehicles use galvanized steel, which won't rust unless the zinc coating becomes removed from damage. Consumer Reports removed questions about rust from their surveys several years ago because results were showing it wasn't a factor anymore. The LC has lots of aluminum and carbon as well as galvanized steel. From everything I've read in recent years, these types of treatments are generally considered money-making ploys for the dealership, rather than a benefit for the consumer. I've never noticed any unusual rust or undercarriage concerns on vehicles I've owned in the last 20 years. The one thing that you can do that certainly doesn't hurt is - regular undercarriage washes.

This is a few years old, but IMO it's still pretty-much relevant...
