Default 20 or 21 inch wheels

I probably will have a choice. I think I like the black highlights of the 21's. I assume the overall diameter with the tire is the same, or is there a speedometer adjustment needed? Is the ride noticeably harsher with the 21's? I am looking more for quiet and comfort vs performance selling off my Corvette.

Any comments, suggestions will be appreciated!

Outside diameter is the same on both (20" wheels have higher profile tires). Higher profile tires will always be more forgiving than lower profile tires. But the difference is very slight, and likely not very noticeable. IMO, the 21" wheels look way better, but taste is certainly subjective. Also, don't forget there's a "comfort" drive mode which softens the ride a bit, regardless of what you decide.

Thanks for your input. I was thinking that since they are run flats that the ride difference may be minimal. Either way I will definitely use comfort mode.

^^^^Whatever you do, DO NOT get the base 20" wheels. Unlike other Lexus performance vehicles, the base wheels are cast. The upgraded 20" and the 21" wheels are forged.

I've only seen pictures of the base wheel, and don't care for the look. My dealer has a spare set of 20's and I think they are forged. So I might have the choice of either forged wheel. If the ride quality is about the same, I like the 21's and the black accents.

Default Wheels

Monroney for my 2020 AWD LS500 shows 20” split 10 spoke alloy wheels with vapor chrome finish for the paltry sum of $1,200. My dealer’s parts man quoted $1,400 per wheel. That was good for a laugh.

All in the eye of the beholder I suppose. I really didn't like the look of the shiny and black plasticky looking 21's and went the bespoke route to get the 20's because they are impossible to find otherwise.I think the 21" Bespoke matte black wheels are gorgeous if you like a black wheel. I couldn't be happier with the ride and looks of the 20" wheels. Having said that I didn't like how either set of wheels were inset so bumping these out with 15mm spacers made a huge difference in the back....night and day in my opinion.

20 inch forged would be lighter and provide more performance.

H&R spacers. you can buy them direct I believe and they also sell through eBay. Just make sure they are hub centric and correct center bore and bolt pattern

If you're looking to buy a '24, I'm not sure if the 20 inch wheels are an option anymore. The 2024 LC500 brochure lists the standard base wheel as the 21-inch. Even when the 20's were an option (2018-2023), 98%+ of LC500's came with the 21-inch upgraded wheels. I chased a set of the 20's for two years for exactly the concerns you're asking about, and just found a reasonably priced set a few months ago.

So unless you're going to do aftermarket 20's, I'm not sure if the plan to get factory 20's is realistic anymore.

If you're anywhere near Denver and want my 20's, they were for my '21 convertible that has the 21-inch wheels (which I don't love). I have a bespoke '24 on order now with the inspiration edition 21's coming, so I don't need the 20's anymore.

Yeah, I researched a long time and couldn't find any that specifically listed LC 500 so I took a little bit of a chance. I can't find the specific model or part # though..sorry. Key thing is a quality hub centric spacer Lug M14x1.5, Bore 60.1mm and PCD of 5x120. I used 15mm for the rear. On those the existing bolts stick out a little beyond the spacer but the wheels are designed to be concave in these spots so there is no interference. Front spacers were thin enough (5mm) to utilize the existing studs with plenty of margin. I might end up going a bit wider on the front though as 5mm does not seem enough.
