There is a front camera since it's required for traffic sign recognition. BeatSonic is offering a product which supposedly allows you to access it.
By pressing the selector button, the front camera is displayed for the duration pre-set using the inbuilt programmable timer. The timer is programmable for 5 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec or timer disable (i.e. push on / push off). In addition, the front camera can be programmed to automatically display at speeds less than 9mph to assist when front parking.
Have you had any experience with beat sonic? I've heard of them, I think they are legit. But I want some first hand reviews. I see a positive sign that the LC500 is explicitly listed in the site.

No first hand experience, only from what I've read about them here on CL.
I’ve installed two Beatsonic products on my SC430. The first was necessary so I could upgrade the radio and still have access to the steering wheel controls. The second device, was an override to be able access the navigation system while in motion. Both devices have met my expectations and have work flawlessly.
How difficult are these sorts of things to install? (re: beatsonic). I sorely miss having a front camera. Would a tuner shop install these? I'm not a DIY type, regardless of how easy it is.
Also: Do these sorts of carhacks void warranties? I'm assuming they'd void a stereo-related warranty.
thx
I bought the beatsonic harness that was specifically mentioned to be compatible with the LC500, an OEM-like button to activate the camera, and front license bolt mounted camera.
I took it to my audio installer (Unique Audio in Lorton, VA) and after looking at the instructions and calling beat sonic they determined that it was going to take a complete take apart of the car dashboard, infotainment system and center console to access the wiring to install the harness wiring. They estimated >8 hours of work to complete. Beatsonic told them "that's just the way it is.".
I chose not to proceed.
If anyone has a similar or not similar experience, please let us know!!!
I am looking into alternatives 'cause I need to front camera to be sure that I don't get curb chafe on my Vorsteiner front spoiler.
I've seen the Beatsonic install video somwhere and boy does it look like a potential rattle generator. Having these guys stripping apart so many parts in the dash, one wonders how it will all fit quietly just like OEM afterwards...
I ended up doing the install at my local car stereo shop (River Oaks Car Stereo) but the camera I got wasn't satisfactory, I wanted parking lines and what not, so I'm looking for another camera module
I just have to churn through all the chinese crap on ebay/amazon and find one that does mirroring too
