Default LC500 convertible confirmed ?

We were at Glendale Lexus Tuesday night to test drive RCF/LC500 for the wife’s new DD. She really wants a convertible (we looked at M4 and c43 Amg cabriolet), but she prefers Lexus to Euro Cars .

After she crossed of the RCF/LC in person, the sales manager said “we have the LC500 convertible coming in March.I received the email today.” Concept will be at LA auto show

I know there have been many rumors.

Was the sales person telling the truth? Anyone know ? I imagine it will be $100k?

My wife is willing to wait for the lexus convertible versus pulling the trigger in the next 6 weeks on a Euro one

appreciate the info

The Tokyo Motor Show begins on 10/27. That's where/when the rumors will likely be put to rest.

always leary of what salesmen at the dealership say. I usually know more about the cars they are trying to sell than they do.

usually I do too.

I figured they were trying for us not to buy a bmw/Benz convertible and make us wait

thus I figured I would come here and check

Just picked up my LC500 Friday from Glendale Lexus. (Although Glendale in California/ LA Metro... I notice you are in Alaska so probably a different one!) I overheard another salesperson telling a prospective customer about an upcoming convertible LC, a 500- or 600- hp LC coming next year, an LC without the touchpad, etc etc. He mentioned everything except an LC Transformer! I'm not sure what his goal was in enticing the customer with rumors of future models, but it was an interesting conversation to overhear nonetheless!

It seems rare when a dealer will let information about future models slip out....especially when their goal is to move the models that are on the lot now.

Probably because once they realize they have NOTHING that we will buy that day, they rather keep us "on the hook," then have us go across the street and buy something else.

I am following the TOKYO show closely. No Lexus convertible there so far

Nothing about a convertible or an LC-F...

"Toyota didn’t even mention the Supra in the press briefing. They didn’t talk about the rumored high-performance Lexus LC-F either, even though that was a long shot."

Perhaps we'll learn something at SEMA on 10/31

Lexus hasn't been known for new models for SEMA, right? Hardly doubt LA auto show will have some reveal.

Oh well. Gonna get the wife the other convertible then. Was waiting for the LC one.

One never knows. They are already planning this for SEMA:

But, based on the Tokyo show, I'm not optimistic for anything else to be revealed at SEMA.

That's a good point....if the customer is a true Lexus fan, then they would likely "wait" for the possibility of their desired model.

Could be happening. Perhaps a 2020 model, to be released in 2019...
