Over at Lexus Carlsbad (so-cal) we have determined that no deposit will be required for simply a test drive but you must be a "qualified buyer". i.e. a credit app may be asked for.
Our first batch is also coming up for allocation shortly and the first two we get are already sold. Lexus has informed us that they will not be flooding dealerships with this car. They will keep most of them at the port and release one or two to a dealer as they sell the one or two that they have. Hoping this beauty is a huge hit!
Wow, that color is stunning! Not loving the polished/chrome wheels, I think something less blingy would be preferred. Cant wait to see one of these in person.

What would the process be if you wanted a custom LC500? For example, I'm dead set on a white exterior, red interior, and the performance package with carbon. I figured that I'd head over to my local dealer this weekend and ask. Get put on a list or something.

It is going to be up to each dealer as for how they are handling special orders. I can say that if you were to order one from us here, with a deposit we would put you on the list for when we have them allocated to us by the factory and when you are at the top of the list and the factory allows us another one, we would contact you and submit the order for exactly how you want it built.
I will say this though, to get the color you want it could be a while: the first few cars we get are going to be production cars and we will have no say in how they are built. Also, I am not sure if you are wanting the hybrid or not but the non hybrid hasnt even been given a release date yet so it's most likely still a ways away. Hope this helps!
ill chime in since I work at a dealership as the lead technology specialist at mine.. post #14 better late than never. ive been absolutely dying to get my hands on one of these. we got pre-order brochures in the other day, so its right around the corner! when the GS-F first came out it was a very big deal to me. but this? holy smokes these are absolutely beautiful!!
ofcourse, ill give a full write-up on it when the first one hits the ground here and ill tell you guys what its like!
lots of new toys in this one. should be interesting to learn all the ins and outs of it. I love my job. lol!

I believe we're getting only 4 initially and we are the number 2 dealer in the country.
With so few cars at the dealer, I can imagine test drives being kept to a minimum.
You can tell who is serious though. We had a lot of BMW guys come in to test drive the RCF and you knew they only wanted to compare it to the M3/4. But we allowed them to drive anyway because we had so many F's. This time, I personally will only allow serious customers only. People that buy these cars don't want a lot of miles. Unless they are leasing. Leasers don't usually care.
