My dealer does the same. I really hope they are using the correct weight. My invoices also say 5w30. I am due in a couple of weeks so I will ask the SA to confirm when I go.

Ok so I was right, conventional oil not synthetic is the mfr recommendation?

Wonder what this is about then:

It is my understanding is that Toyota does not make a 5w30 synthetic. Our motors are designed to use that weight so that is why it came with genuine Toyota non-synthetic from the factory. Nothing I have read says you can't use synthetic.

Oh I know you CAN, I just took flowrider's reply before to mean you MUST.

Typically it isnt recommended to go back from synthetic to conventional once you make that switch from what I've gathered over the years. I was just saying that as far as I knew Lexus does not require synthetic for the LC 500 as a manufacturer recommendation or to maintain warranty.

My dealer say the same. Factory recommendation for the LC is standard dino oil but they will use synthetic on request. I didn't ask if there would be an additional charge.
Bought my 2025 LC new and plan on changing oil often enough that dino oil should be fine. I intend to send the used oil samples to a lab for testing - at least for the first few oil changes. First result showed some wear metals and high silicone level; typical for a new engine. When the level of the wear metals levels out, that means the engine is fully broken in. The dealers service department has no problem with drawing the sample if I provide a container.

This a relevant thread. p441 of my 2025 OM "

■ Engine oil selection
“Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” is used in
your Lexus vehicle. Use Lexus
approved “Toyota Genuine Motor
Oil” or equivalent to satisfy the following
grade and viscosity.
Oil grade:
ILSAC GF-6A multigrade engine oil
Recommended viscosity:
SAE 5W-30"

Now realize I have no idea what my dealer-serviced LC with “Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” are using as far as the oil specs. Plus are specs recommended consistent across all models and error prone if not?

Decided. Between Johnny Carson and George Burns, it's Burns. You smoke Cuban cigars or what's convenient?

Wondering if the above is for their turbo models.

There are only three recommendations/ requirements
6 months , 5,000 miles
GF 6A
5W - 30
Toyota does not make oil..
Any oil that meets these requirements will work for this application. Regular, Synthetic, or Synthetic Blend..
Which is best is a different and longer post.

Could be a fluke or could be something bad. If you are a diyer, and of course want to be objective, I would start trending data via oil analysis.

This also isnt your first oil change right?
