Great thread… I actually prefer this look, but it requires removing the surround…
This looks fantastic. I too purchased exhaust with optional tips which don't fit the OEM setup. When you remove the silver trim, did you give up any structural support around that area? Would you happen to have a photo of the rear of the car to see what the overall impression looks like? Thanks for sharing.
Maybe it's the angle, but without the surround they look a bit unfinished? The tips look great though
That “unfinished” look is what’s holding me back from doing this type of mod with the OEM diffuser. It would be nice if there were a way to clean up the surrounding area. Another issue for me is having to look at the remaining chrome square above the newly installed quad tips.

I just bought the same muffler tips as the OP and they really fit perfectly on the OEM surround - they're angled also just right for the slope of the surround/bumper - I'm going to be installing it at some point. The car doesn't need it, but for my OEM "LCF" project, I think it helps align it visually with its F brethren.
You’ve had that on there for a while, Lou. Is it holding up okay? I recently had my car dechromed with vinyl everywhere except the diffuser. The installer said it wouldn’t work there, and I didn’t push him on it. He does good work overall, I’m just not sure how confident I am in this stuff staying put over time.

Please post a detailed install thread with pics along the way.
If I can this on my LC without having to cut/trim the tips or any other fabrication I totally will (if it ever leaves Jacksonville's damn shipyard!!!).

I doubt I'll be able to get any more detailed than OP was with his YouTube video, though I think the main obstacle for me will be figuring out how to cut down the tips and screws since I have no tools.

You could also buy the black version of these - there's another thread with the part numbers, granted you'll have to remove the rear bumper for the install.
