Default Pro clip phone mount and overall thoughts

I finally pulled the trigger on the pro clip phone mount for the LC during their Black Friday sale. I bought the mount with the generic ball mounting plate as I already had a MagSafe wireless charger that I liked from my previous car. This was by far the cheaper option as I already had it and the equivalent options available on their site would have been an additional ~$70.

The overall mounting solution is great, specially when paired with a wireless CarPlay adapter. I got that adapter first and started experiencing greater than usual battery drain (which makes sense) so I had to find a solution without having to plug in the phone (which would defeat the purpose of the wireless CarPlay).

While the phone mount is the most optimal for the LC, I do feel in the back of my mind that it takes away from the nice interior aesthetic that the LC is known for. It also blocks the infotainment screen for the passenger. I usually use the LC for leisure, cars & coffee and other scenarios where folks are looking at the car so I may not need the practicality of the phone mount. Anyways, I'll give it some time to make up my mind on it but currently conflicted on this.

Looks good!
Based on other reviews on here, I purchased it and think it works out great.
I modified mine by cutting the back plate down so it was not so large around my phone mount.
I have a "Steelie" ball mounted to it and my phone has the Steelie magnet.
Quick and easy!!

I had not seen one of these before! Great to see other owners customizing the proclip mount to their needs. I’ll consider a version 2 for my setup once I live with it for a few months. Thanks for sharing!

Glad it works for you......i just don't see a need for one. With Car Play I can do anything I want from my phone while it is in my pocket.

Amazon Amazon

That displays gauges that I monitor on my phone

I have/like the ProClip. Main reason was to have a place to put the phone and not forget it when exiting.

im a bit concerned about the damage to the trim with the proclip. i know its minor, but over time that plastic?rubber?Vinyl trim will warp and change shape.

My experience is that any "magnetic" self charging holder does not work well when the holder and phone are both totally vertical. When you hit a bump or any spirited driving it will fall off. Last month I posted a self charging device that I mounted on the side of the center console. I am much happier using my unit. Although it's not factory made for the LC I find it is problem free.

It mounts a little differently on my’24. The screen encroaches on the area where they show the mount going but it still fits. It’s also not in the way of the screen

I haven't seen a phone mount for the LC that doesn't look a little out of place in the interior
