Signed the Special Order form for a 2026 LC 500 Convertible Bespoke today.
No deposit was required but they will require $2,500 if and when Lexus approves the build.
The GSM put one of these in 3 months ago for one of his buddies and Lexus has not approved yet....so he told me it might be a 6mo+ wait if they even build me a car.
This time around I considered/spent some time with:
2021 AM Vantage Roadster
2026 AM Vantage Roadster
2024 AM DB 12 Volante
2026 BMW M4 'vert
2022 Ferrari Portofino
2017 Ferrari Cali T
2025 MBZ AMG SL 55
2025 Lotus Emira (not a 'vert but by far the sexiest looking car of the entire bunch from the outside...)
2026 Porsche Boxster 4.0 GTS
So let's talk about AM:
I literally can't stomach the idea of losing $60k by simply driving the new Vantage Roadster off the lot. I started to have actual nightmares at night about AMs so I think this was my brain telling me this would be a bad decision.
Not only that, but spending some time on the AM forums showed me that there is a very real possibility that my car (even under warranty) can spend a lot of time at the dealer waiting for parts. (One guy has owned his $330k DB 12 for 4 months, 2 of which the car has been at the shop.) I am trying to live my life with only 1 vehicle as I work from home and only put about 3k miles per year on it.
I really liked the 2021 Vantage until I sat in it....the interior is so ugly and super low budget 1995 looking. The 2026 has a brand new interior that is absolutely gorgeous...but I couldn't quite get comfortable in the rather hard-bottomed seat, and the depreciation is not something I am willing to accept by buying new.
The DB 12's are nicer....more room...super comfy...but seem too big (there are some really nice <1,000 miles $330k MSRP specs selling for $250k-ish). And all I kept thinking about at this price range was that the Ferrari was a much better value as they don't depreciate like a rock.
There is a chance I may revisit the new Vantage Roadster in a couple of years once some low-mileage used cars hit the market because it's the only interior I've seen that excites me in ways that make me want to make a bad financial decision....

Let the LC 500 Adventure 2.0 begin!!!
Best of luck with the order. How long are you planning to wait for a build approval?

Dealt with the GSM (super great guy and not a BS'er) at Lexus of PDX (where I have bought a few new cars from). He has an order in from 3mos ago that Lexus has not approved (other dealers also told me the same thing).
He told me that if they do accept the order I probably won't have a car until 6-8mos. He told me that somebody within Lexus's supply chain told him that Lexus is concentrating on building all of the Inspiration Series first (550 of them), and they may or may not even choose to accept any Bespoke Orders....he was very honest about this, and another GSM (I chatted with 3 GSM's at 3 dealers...and one salesman at another dealer) also told me the same exact thing....almost word-for word.
So...if I am unable to procure a 2026....and the model goes away....I will have to figure out what to do then.
But, I don't care if it takes a long time to get....I already have an LC 500 Convertible that I absolutely love. I just really want a newer model year to keep longer....and god I love love LOVE USB Mica 2.0!!!
I will sell my pristine never-even-driven-in-the-rain White/Circuit Red 'vert once Lexus approves my build. Someone is gonna get a great like-new vehicle!
But but but you already have the same car...... why not just wrap it with the new colored PPF which will protect the paint and you can get it any color you want.

I don't care for wraps...and I have red leather, which doesn't go with bold exterior colors. And I want a newer model so it is 5 years newer should I keep it for another 5-10 years.
I love that white interior too, but i got a feeling the leather is going to look worse for wear in 5-10 years. Just look at those sc430's in ecru leather, they all look terrible after a few years and those were made in the days when they prioritized the best grain of leather they could find. none of this semi aniline bs

That's fine. I can afford to buy new seat covers if they wear out.

Agreed! I am on board with this mindset. Life is so freaking short. This is the spec you really want and you have the means to acquire it. Buy it and just simply enjoy it.

I don’t know if this stuff works or not. I’m going to try it for the first time this year when it gets colder outside and the car is parked.
