Default Two Questions about the LC500

Just purchased my LC 500 a month ago and love this car!
Has anybody had their key fob reprogramed at the dealer to remotely start the car or roll down all the windows? I have read you can.
And second, are you able to hear your parking assist alarm. My wife says she can hear it but very high tone. I am unable to hear it even turned up to level three.
I do have a slight high frequency hearing loss but all my other cars are loud and clear. Going to the dealer tomorrow to pick up a second key fob and will ask about the remote start programing.

Yes the remote programming for the windows down can be done by the dealer. Ask them to do it as part of your 1k service, it will be free. Review all of the available options in the manual (Customizable Features or something similar) for dealer programming and ask them during the first service and it will be free. Outside of that initial programming, the dealer will reserve the right to charge you for it (most dealers won't, but have heard that some will).

Remote start should already be included in your LC, at least in the North American market (unsure about others). Press the Lock button on the fob three times with a half second in between each press, and hold it on the third press. You should have remote start access via the Lexus smartphone app as well.

I did the remote rolldown on mine at the first inspection, no idea why it's not just standard. I remember the good old days (perhaps not in the US?), when you could also program a remote to close all the windows on the lock button...

Be warned, the remote start feature on Lexus cars does that irritating thing where the engine stops, as soon as you open the door.

Oh, and welcome! Enjoy your car!

I imagine that happens to prevent someone from driving off in your car if they somehow manage to open the door.

Maybe, but then since the car knows very well whether the key/transponder is at or inside the car, it could surely just lock the transmission instead, if the key is not present. If a thief is able to clone the key transponder, they're able to drive off with the car anyway...

Agreed. Other manufacturers had figured this out long ago. Toyota is finally getting on board; certain 2025+ models under Toyota umbrella will no longer shut off.

FWIW, the shutoff is triggered by vehicle unlock rather than door open. Minor difference, but useful if you decide you don't need to go after remote starting the car, you can trigger it off by unlocking the car via fob and then re-lock the car.

WOW , THANKS!! It does work. You have to do it just right. I have tried numerous times and never had it start. I believe I was only pressing it twice.

Thanks for the additional information.👍

Would you know if the "roll down the windows" feature is possible with a 2019 LC 500? I live in Florida and it was a feature on a previous car and I miss the ability to let the 130 degree escape the car as I approach it. Thx.

Yes it should be programmable via techstream or carista.

OBD plug is just past the hood release under the left side of the steering wheel.

I haven’t used that roll-down window feature on a Lexus in a long time. It’s handy for letting some of the heat out on summer days, but otherwise I’m not sure what it’s good for. Most of my frustration with it in the past was that it would also open the sunroof, which isn’t an issue with the LC.

What OBD scannner do you have?
I used a Wi-Fi OBD on my Lexus with Carista for years without any problems until I got the LC. It would no longer connect, so I bought another Wi-Fi adapter, and that one didn’t work either. I then switched to this Bluetooth adapter, and it works perfectly, the upload and download speeds are much faster than with the Wi-Fi version.
