I am embarrassed to admit this...
...but in almost 5 years of ownership I have never driven my LC 500 in any mode other than Normal for longer than a quick on-ramp blast--perhaps 60 seconds max.
I decided today, since I went to look at cars and run a bunch of errands, that I would drive the entire day in Sport S+.
I do not understand the Youtube (many idiots, we know) reviews saying that there isn't much of a difference in between modes.
Driving in Sport S+ was an absolute DELIGHT and completely changed the character of my LC.
Crap...I don't think I have ever even used the paddle shifters in Manual Mode....I just never viewed this as a race car, I guess. (and I used to own the very first car that CAME WITH paddle shifters, which I loved!)

Yer dog needs to run fast and bark loud every now and so often to stay happy and healthy. Yer SC needs the same. A decent percentage of the dough you spent on this delicious car went for speed and acceleration and occasional raucous behavior. Glad to hear you’re getting your money’s worth!

I think the YouTubers think sport+ is somehow meant to unlock more power to the vehicle. The difference between sport+ and normal is pretty significant if you know what it's meant to do and don't have unrealistic expectations of the mode. The root might also lie in the way other manufacturers do sport+ mode, where it enables things like launch control and disables certain nannies, etc., whereas Lexus sport mode had never been more than a throttle remap, subtle suspension stiffness, steering tightness, and transmission timing changes.
And I love the difference..

Glad you got to experience the sport + drive mode, the burble and pops with it are also fun on downshifts!
I will admit that I haven't had my '24 hybrid in Sport+ mode more than once. I do, however, hit Sport mode at least a couple of times per week: when I survey the traffic situation heading onto the freeway, for example, and realize that I'll need a quick boost in power, I just give the Frankenstein **** a quick twist and I'm having fun!
Multiple YouTube channel comparisons between the LC 500 and the Porsche 911 or a Corvette C8.
Built on the same platform as the big LS sedan.
The wheelbase measures 115”.
The coupe weighs 4300lb (Convertible is heavier).
This to me clearly spells out it is intended to be a premium tier master built grand touring automobile.
It’d be more reasonable to compare it with the Bentley Continental GT than Corvettes and 911s.
