Default Exaust and other Modifications

Hello fellow LC500 owners. I have a 2021 LC500 convertible. I love the way that the stock engine and exhaust sound. Are there any high performance exhaust products and/or strategies that will SIGNIFICANTLY make this wonderful vehicle sound even better? Because if the modifications are not significant, I will just leave it alone.

THANKS!!

What is your goal for the sound? Louder? More tone? More low-end rumble?

If you want LOUDER, then your best bet options right now are likely to PPE/GT Haus Midpipe + Muffler Delete (PPE or otherwise), or one of the full catback valved exhaust setups. This can be done for ~$3k or less.

Armytrix is the gold standard out-of-the-box bolt on catback system for pure volume and rumble, but they have recently stopped selling this exhaust in the states via their normal distribution network.

Or you could do PPE Headers, which will definitely give you significant volume.

Headers + full exhaust would be the max volume you can get out of the car, but will run you close to $10k to complete the setup including labor.

Thanks so much with a thorough reply with details. YES!! I would like a great combination of it all. Deeper low rumble at standstill then a loud deep roar at take off. If I am gonna mess with this wonderful stock sound, I want to go hard. I like your idea about the headers + exhaust like one of the full cutback valved exhaust systems.

THANKS!!!!!!

That'll definitely do the trick! I am putting headers on mine to complement my exhaust next year to fully open it up and let her roar. Can't wait!

Have you decided on the headers that you will use?

PPE equal length are the only viable option as far as I'm aware for LHD LC

We can set you up with modifications for this car.

Armytrix is not being sold in the USA for who knows how long due to new changes.

We can set you up with a PPE exhaust though and other options as well..

Yeah very unfortunate. They said they for some EPA hardships due to the secondary cat delete so their armytrix USA subsidiary cannot sell the system. I have a buddy who is trying to still get it via armytrix Taiwan directly but not sure how he is faring.

^^^^That can't be the reason. Headers, most aftermarket exhaust systems, and related parts that aren't OEM installed also don't meet EPA requirements. They carry a warning sticker that says something to the effect - Not for use on a Street Driven Vehicle, For Off-Road Use Only.

I know California has stricter rules

I'm just telling you what they said when contacted. I don't know whether it's the truth or not

I'd like to know if he is able to help you. Maybe Armytrix is working on something better?
