Post Lexus connect app

Dear All
I bought the new LC500 2025 from an agent in Qatar, then moved to the UAE. However, the Lexus Connect is not working. I contacted the dealer, and they said it cannot be fixed and they can’t do anything about it. Do you have any suggestions or a way to make it work? I can’t even start the car remotely.
thanks

Check the data communication module.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DCM Region & Status on the LC 500 (On-Board)

  1. Start the car (ignition ON, engine running or in “Ready” mode).
  2. On the infotainment screen, press the “Menu” button on the console.
  3. Scroll to and select “Setup”.
  4. In Setup, scroll down to “Vehicle”.
  5. Select “Data Communication Module” (may also appear as “DCM Settings” or “Lexus Online”).
  6. Open “DCM Information” or “Status”.
    Here, you should see:
    • DCM ID / IMEI (unique module number).
    • Network Status → should display the local UAE network (e.g., Etisalat, Du) if connected.
    • DCM Version / Region Code (e.g., “ME” = Middle East).
    • Service Provider → “Lexus Connect – ME” or similar.
If it says “No Service,” “Not Available in This Region,” or stays on “Connecting,” it usually means the DCM is still tied to Qatar provisioning or not registered with UAE networks.

📱 Check Using the Lexus Connect App

  1. Download Lexus Connect Middle East from the UAE App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create or log in with a UAE account.
  3. Go to Add Vehicle, then enter your VIN.
  4. Observe the response:
    • Accepted → DCM is Middle East compatible and can be activated in UAE.
    • “VIN not supported in this region” → requires dealer reprovisioning.

🧰 If the DCM Is Still Set to Qatar

There’s no setting on the car or in the app to switch regions manually. Instead:
  • Visit a Lexus UAE dealership and ask for a DCM Re-provision / Re-activation request.
  • They will:
    • Plug in the Lexus Techstream or Global Tech tool.
    • Register your VIN in the UAE backend system.
    • Update DCM firmware if needed.
    • Replace or reconfigure the SIM if it’s country-locked.
This is the official way to move a GCC vehicle (e.g., Qatar → UAE) into the UAE Lexus Connect network.

🚫 What You Can’t Do Yourself

  • ❌ No way to factory reset the DCM to change its region.
  • ❌ Can’t insert your own SIM or override with a hotspot.
  • ❌ Can’t change region via infotainment menus or OTA updates.

Hey, I’m just asking multiple questions to AI for this, and this is what it came up with. I had it add the phone numbers and contact info so you can go around the dealer if needed. The goal is to find out if the DCM is Middle East spec. If you haven't deactivated the original account, I would start there.
Good luck.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

🧭 1. The Region Can Technically Be Changed — But Only by Lexus HQ Backend

Lexus Middle East does not allow end users to manually reset or switch the DCM region. But dealers can request a “DCM Reprovision / VIN Transfer” through their internal portal (usually via the distributor or Lexus Connected Services team).

When a dealer says “it’s not possible,” they may mean:
  • They don’t have authority to do it themselves.
  • They haven’t submitted a reprovision request before.
  • They don’t want to deal with it because it involves the regional distributor (Al-Futtaim in UAE, Abdullah Abdulghani or similar in Qatar).
✅ The truth: It is technically possible if the DCM is Middle East–spec.

🧪 2. You Can Independently Check VIN Region Compatibility

You can verify whether your VIN is registered to Qatar’s Lexus Connect backend (and whether it’s Middle East spec) in a few ways:

A. Use the Lexus Connect Middle East App (UAE)

  • Create a UAE Lexus Connect account.
  • Try to add the VIN.
    • If it accepts the VIN → the DCM is Middle East compatible, and reprovision is likely all that’s needed.
    • If it says “VIN not supported in this region” → it’s still tied to Qatar’s system.
👉 This test alone often proves the dealer wrong if they claim “region cannot be changed.” It doesn’t change the region, but it tells you where it currently lives.

📞 3. Contact Lexus Middle East (or Al-Futtaim UAE) Directly

You can bypass local service advisors (who sometimes aren’t trained on connected services) and speak with Lexus Connected Services / Customer Relations:
  • Provide your VIN, and they can tell you:
    • The current region / backend where the VIN is registered (Qatar vs UAE).
    • Whether it’s eligible for transfer.
    • What steps the dealer must follow to initiate reprovision.
Key phone numbers:📌 Pro tip: Say something like —
“I need to confirm the telematics backend region for my VIN and whether it can be transferred from Qatar to UAE. The dealer told me it’s not possible, but I believe it just requires backend reprovisioning.”
They’ll either confirm or escalate to the regional Lexus Connect team.

🔐 4. Yes — The Original Qatar Lexus Connect Account May Need to Be Deactivated

If the car is still actively registered to a Qatar Lexus Connect account, the backend may block new registration in UAE until the original owner/app account releases the VIN.

If it’s your account, you can:
  • Open the Qatar Lexus Connect app.
  • Remove the vehicle from your account.
  • Then register it again under UAE.
If it was registered by the previous owner, Lexus can do a forced disassociation upon request — similar to unlinking a phone from an Apple ID.

👉 This is often the missing step that trips people up when importing GCC cars.
