Default LC Winter Tire Availability?

I'm up here in the northeast and have two sets of OEM wheels. Does anyone know of any winter tires (non-runflat and not AS) that are available for our LCs in the OEM sizes?

My search today only came up with Continental VikingContact 7s, but then I couldn't actually find anyplace to order them. (They're the wrong speed rating, but not looking to do spirited driving in the winter). I'm only looking for using out on cold dry days and possibly in an emergency must drive-in-light-snow situation. I know you AZ/FL etc guys think we're crazy :>, but this is my "forever" car and I want to drive it EVERY day I can.

Alternatively does anyone know if upsizing Winter tires to 255s in front will have the proper clearance like several of you have mentioned the Michelin Primacy A.S.'s do?

I have Bridgestone Blizzak LM005. The tires I got from previous owner, and he mentioned that it was a pain in the *** to get the stock tire sizes. (outside US)

I live in Chicago and have 2 sets of wheels and have the Sotto Zero 3 run flats winter tires on the car from Thanksgiving to May each year and have been very happy with them

I am from MA (moved from Brookline) and am used to winters there as well

Get another car. Seriously.
From about mid November or whenever they spray the brine solution on the roads, my LC sits in the garage on a trickle charger until April when the weather is nicer. I put on AS4 tires in case in need to get it out and take off the LC on the insurance policy.
You have to really think if it’s worth the headache of getting winter tires or just all season tires for emergency use. I live in MA and I can’t remember a time where I “must” go out when it’s snowing hard. It hasn’t been very snowy here and even if it does, they advise people to stay home when it’s really bad outside. I only need to go out when the roads are plowed and treated so AS tires are just fine. But of course, your situation might be different than mine.
I have AS tires on my LS AWD and RX AWD and they’re plenty for my winter driving.

It's often not about it being the only car
I like to play with my toys year round and a nice set of winter tires that are happy on cold roads make that a low risk thing
My experience was that there were about 5 days a year to stay off the road
My last fun RWD cars in Brookline were the S2000 and IS350, and they did not become ruined from being driven in the winter

Hi NickL,
Yes, my situation is different than yours. I have two sets of OEM wheels. I WANT to run non-runflat oem sized SNOWS in the winter (if they exist) and performance tires the rest of the year. My LC will never be sold. I WILL BE driving it on brine sprayed roads and enjoying the hell out of it! (I'll be dead long before it rusts out :> and . . . "Seriously" I don't need to "get another car". but Thanks

My original question still stands: Does anyone know the name of a non-runflat oem sized SNOW tire for our LCs?

My kind of New Englander

I have been out of MA 18 years but the tire shop I liked when I worked in Cambridge is AdvancedTire, maybe they can do some research for you

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/conti...ge20DbP8fnwAFB This tire exists but may have been discontinued

This one is available in a lot of sizes

Vredestein Wintrac Pro+

Is there anything in 255/40 and 275/35 or even 285/35? Those sizes should fit just fine especially if on stock suspension

Thanks Lou, I've been away so just seeing this.
Are you sure the wider 255/40s will fit? I know some of you guys have that size in summer or AS, but winter tires can be a bit bulkier.
Alternatively, would I be better off with the taller 245/45s?
Once I buy and install and they don't fit, I own them.
Thanks for your input and help!
