Lexus Sport Concept Debuted
I am trying to follow all the current teases, rumors and concept-images of the coming LFA++(for lack of a better term) super car. I really warmed up to the latest images and video describing possibilities posted by tecman. I have to admit that when it comes to pass, I will likely feel pangs of desire to own one and envy of those who have it. However, It'd be a vanity move in my case. My current LC checks every box (nearly) on my satisfaction scale for pride of ownership, performance, luxury, comfort, yada-yada. Afraid the new LFA++ could be a millstone on several fronts to my everyday happy in comparison. Bottom line, Korbek, "If not I'll have my LC to love for 20 years (hopefully!" resonated here.
I will hopefully take delivery of my 26 bespoke order in the Spring. The forever daily and add the weekend'er V8TT in either Toy/Lex skin when it's available. The toned down Lexus variant is disappointing language.
Haven’t heard much about this car lately. Even with my daily Lexus video searches, it rarely comes up.

It doesnt seem like there is a lexus sport coupe with that TT V8 in the pipeline, at least not for the forseeable future.
Maybe they could call it, oh, I dunno, the LFR?
Meanwhile, I'm genuinely curious to see if there's a new Supra/Lexus SC coming along soon, and whether it's powered by anything more exotic than a (very powerful) turbo 4 cylinder.
True, though with the electric car likely to flop as hard as most of the other 1000hp electric cars, if the two models really are based on the same platform, I wouldn't exactly be shocked if we end up with a V8TT-powered "LFA", as a softer more super-GT version of the GR GT (which itself seems to include many Lexus design cues...)

That sure would be nice. These ultra high strung 4 poppers are not anywhere close to appealing. Massive turbo lag unless they build in an electrically powered spooler to keep the turbo spun up prior to throttle input like Porsche is doing which adds complication, and far more likely to suffer premature death than a beefier engine. I think of the Mercedes 4 banger "C63" and how far it fell from its original ethos. Imagine making a worse car than the C43 (turbo V6) and charging MORE for it.

It's depressingly self-defeating - if you force consumers to choose between new very-low emissions vehicles which just aren't any good and keeping their older more-polluting vehicles on the road, for much lower overall cost, guess what happens? I'm not saying that excellent electric and hybrid cars don't exist, to be clear. Small wonder, though, that the average fleet age rises each year, in many major markets.
None of it excuses the abuse of the "piano black" plastic in recent years, though. Godawful.
Rant over...
Edit: I guess the mirror caps technically, but I've replaced those with carbon fiber so didn't think of it!

“One of my most favorite things about the LC is the prolific lack of piano black surfaces.”
Agreed!!!
I believe by far what most people find egregious is the gratuitous use of the black piano plastic material within the interiors. Many of the European brands are guilty of this, even in their upper end more expensive models. It’s a crime!

Yes, of course, I'd forgotten that bloodline and its elegant Steinway depth and beauty. It suffered like its begotten progeny the plastic. The difference being genuine patina and scuff marks on the fake.
