Default Errors After Drained Battery

I have a 2018 LC500 that I purchased new in May 2018. The battery is original and the car is rarely driven, current mileage is 28,000. Today I tried to start the car but the battery was completely drained. Upon jump starting, I received the following three messages. I would appreciate some feedback from anyone that has knowledge of what has happened.

1. "Check Engine - Visit your Dealer"
2. "Check Secondary Collision Brake System"
3. "Traction Control Turned Off"

I cannot turn the Traction Control back on.

Replace the battery and drive it for 30 min, should clear everything.

Subscribed to your thread. I did have luck with a lithium battery jump-starter in "boost" mode starting a completely dead battery on one of my vehicles when all else failed to crank in normal jump procedure. Subscriber because battery power seems to be a must/Achilles-heel of vehicle. I have to wonder if replacement of the 7 year old battery might clear problem. Sorry this does not answer your post's question.

No worries. 7 years on a battery is already borrowed time, and Toyota vehicles (maybe most vehicles these days even?) are known for throwing wild codes after a full battery drainage and jump, especially so when the battery is on its last legs.

I just started the car again after letting it idle for an hour earlier today to add juice to the battery.. All error codes have cleared. Likely took time to reboot.

Thanks to all

I do have a trickle charger that I will now be using.

Trickle chargers are great, nothing will save a 7yo battery. Hope you replaced it.

‘I’d still strongly suggest buying a new battery. 7 years and your’s is living on minimal borrowed time.

Battery Tricklers are a Cars best friend now a days especially with all the electronics that are always draining the battery when the car is off and is a good idea for cars that are not daily drivers. In the 2nd Gen NX forum there has been posts on battery drain. I have a Battery Tender for all my cars and they have helped prolong the battery life.

ALL OF THE ABOVE.

We recently had a similar experience living on the original 5 yr old battery. Wouldn’t turn over one morning going to work. So put on trickle charger and used other car.

Lasted for about a couple months, then one day while leaving work, totally dead. That was enough to convince us to get a new battery as all the above have suggested.

Now, it starts like a charm every time and NO worry in the foreseeable future of it dying on us.

Please, do yourself a favor, and get a new battery. If you don’t get one from the dealer, I suggest Costco as they use the same brand as the dealer would give you, at least at my local Costco they do.

^^^^Suggestion for a new battery:

Read this thread for some ideas. Personally, I have the Optima DH7.

Keep in mind, you can buy a simple device that tests the state of your battery any time you want. I use a SOLAR 12v Battery tester, and with each oil change I do, I measure the CA and CCA. This provides the health of the battery over time. It also tells you if you need to charge your battery or if it fails and needs to be replaced. They simply clip on to the positive and negative battery posts when you use it.

Question to those who changed the battery..
a. what battery (brand) have you put in the car now?
b. from where did you buy it?

Hoping that your input will help us who are looking into battery change in the future.
