Today I used my scanner and I got four codes regarding the camshaft actuator (below). I checked all the fuses under the hood and they are all ok. The car runs fine. I’m not getting an alert on the dash. Status “permanent” seems unusual. Any ideas?
I did install a front cam using a fuse tap. I matched the OEM fuse in the tap. The camera worked fine. I have since removed the tap and put everything back. Could a fuse inside the cabin that controls this circuit blown? The fuse descriptions are very vague. I don’t know where to start.
I’ve had this on both my RC F and LC 500. Dealt with it for a year on my RC F while following all the troubleshooting guide on techstream. I’d clear the codes and sometimes it goes away for a few days and then comes back. Sometimes it just comes back immediately. Turns out I had to get the connector repinned. I guess something caused the pins to back out of the connector a little. The pins looked like they were in the connector fine but my lexus tech gave it a try, just to rule out the need of replacing my engine harness (which techstream suggested next). After that, didnt get the code again. I also know a GS F who has this issue and same issue for his car. Hope this solves your problem as well!
