Does seem to mention the LC500 but only up to 2021? Has anyone implemented a tune from these folks and determined what it does?

Edit: just read the post threads on this. Seems to be something there but was also done in conjunction with a fuel swap? Confused a bit here.

You can either get a tune for 93 octane or e85 if you have it available. You can find Tuned by Loi or Reflash RD on Instagram. They have both tuned LC500s already and even tuned a supercharged one.

What kind of gains are there on the normally aspirated V8 with a flash? I’m not sure that I can think of a single NA car where a flash’s gains were particularly notable, much like an intake or exhaust. A forced induction car, where the boost is controlled by the ECU, is a totally different animal. You can spend a grand for a flash on a 911 Turbo and get a hundred (pretty safe) horsepower. On an NA car you’ll need a lot more than a flash to get close to half of that.

I'm in the same camp which is where my scepticism comes from. Without some form of forced induction to play with, On the stock car, I don't see how you can boost performance (HP and torque) by simply getting into the ECU unless you're playing with fuel maps which often results in premature engine failure from running too lean or rich. I'd want to see some dyno runs. Plus, the whole process that is being described by "Tuned by Loi" implies headers and/or a supercharger is involved. So, not a simple ECU flash. From their Facebook page:

Owning a LC 500 I would have to say the exhaust system is perfect. There is no way I want to cruise for hours listening to a loud drone from the exhaust. When I step on it an the exhaust tone comes to life, to me that is what it is all about.

I leave my exhaust valves open all the time. If I ever want it closed or have the car itself control the valves, I can simply push one of the buttons on the rear view mirror to change the setting.

Makes perfect sense to me. There are times when you want a serene and quiet driving environment. Lexus got it right by offering the flexibility to manage exhaust noise per driver’s desires.

But the most important change has occurred underneath the hood where the naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 of the standard car has been modified by Club DSPORT. In charge of the project was Magnus Ohlaker putting to good use his extensive 20-year experience in building engines for Formula 1 and IndyCar.Displacement has been bumped to 5.6 liters and the cylinder bore has been enlarged as well to squeeze more power. The stock engine pushes out 471 hp (351 kW), but this stronger version delivers an extra 54 hp (40 kW) for a grand total of 525 hp (391 kW). If that’s not impressive enough, Lexus says the modified engine can actually develop more than double the stock power, so 942+ hp (702+ kW) is technically possible to extract from the 2UR-GSE engine.

Still waiting for the twin turbo setup or supercharger. My understanding is that they got the 54hp without changing/modifying the ECM , plug and play!

You guys miss the point of the mod.

It makes the motor capable of making about 900hp.

They got 54hp with no ecm tuning (plug & play).

From what I can gather, no one has hacked the ECM, ergo there isn't any FI stuff available or "tunes".

It has gotten to the point that if you want HP, you better buy it that way, especially if you live in Calif.

About that engine mod by DSport, It's extremely expensive and the Dsport site does not even document where the car went or how it ran. And they also noted, could not crack the ECU system they were thinking it would just simply work.

On the ECU note, RRacing cracked the IS 500 ECU to fit a Supercharger in it. Here's a thread on that from IS subforum. Suprisingly they did not add this kit to RC F or LC 500 but only IS 500 I wonder why. Their old Supercharger would only work with specific RCF models before facelift in 2020, just an FYI.

That is also another type of mod which I personally would not touch, already stated my reasons in that thread only. In short, 2UR-GSE is already a robust machine with tight tolerances unlike Chevy LS pushrod engines and reliability put in their engineering plus the performance for a NA engine with Japanese laser precision. Modifying it means losing the tolerances, refinement that Lexus put into it over the span of 17 years since it's debut in IS F. The only natural way was to get the RCF GT3 engine, but sadly Lexus / Toyota Motor Corp. denied the request of chief engineer Yuuichi Tsurumoto to adopt the 5.4L 500+HP GT3 racing variant in the RC F Track Edition.
