Q's on purchasing a non-Lexus-certified LC
I've never bought a used car that a warranty would be any good for, but the LC seems to be something to consider one for. If I didn't find a Lexus Certified LC, what is the best route for third party warranties? Is there anything Lexus would sell you?
Second question, assuming I DID find a certified, how does that work wrt service? Can it be brought to any Lexus dealership or do they pin you to one?
Thanks all!

Every used Lexus vehicle I've purchased has been Lexus Certified, specifically for the added Warranty, maintenance and inspections. Case in point, the RX we just purchased was the dealers Loaner vehicle with 13K miles. Since it was LC, we get 61 months of Warranty, 4 free maintenance visits and all the benefits of a new vehicle (like free Loaners). Some Connected Services may not be included due to time like XM.

L-Certified warranty is backed by LExus, operates the same as and is just an extension of the basic factory warranty. It is required to be honored by any Lexus dealer, not just the selling dealership.

Lexus will not sell you anything additional, but then again if you're buying a LC from a dealer chances would be good it's already certified.
The 3rd party warranties would be options if you get it from any other dealer and are basically forms of robbery, so do heavy research and read the fine print at least 10x before purchasing one. The fine print not only identifies what they cover, but (should) identify how a claim will not be covered. That should all be understood and factored in to how you plan on using the car.
Also be aware that you do have choices for 3rd party warranties, you are not tied to the dealer's options (which are always overpriced so they can get their cut).
If a warranty is super important to you - be patient and find a LCert. It will be cost effective, less hassle in the event something major does happen, and in most cases much better coverage.

Don't believe ANYONE why tells you their POS 3rd party Wi****WasALexusWarranty is Just As Good as a factory warranty. It isn't. If it Was As Good As A Lexus Warranty IT'D BE a Lexus warranty.
If it was as good as a Lexus warranty their BBB score would be better than some 3.4 or similar DISsatisfaction rating. Some will lie right to your face and say Oh No we've got No complaints when there's hundreds of them on their BBB page. Do Your Homework.
The 3rd party clown who is flipping the black glass magic 8 ball to determine if their wannabe a warranty is gonna pay for your repair is Hundreds maybe Thousands of miles from You or Your car.
Just how fair To You then do you think that determination will be?
You warranty needs to come from Lexus Financial. Period.

As I told @CaryCatch , "I'd highly engourenge consulting with a service advisor on Fidelity Platinum coverage, I'm sure you will hear nothing but good things.... just make sure it is a service advisor, and not the F&I sales office at the dealership."
