Default Painted my windscreen

I always thought the black windscreen for the convertible really clashed with the TC interior. So I decided to see if I could paint the thing to blend better. I really like how it turned out, and it visually just kind of disappears into the rest of the interior.

In a former life I sold Chevrolets and our seatbelt webbing was black but the Buicks and Cadillacs were color keyed.
We might think that our upmarket cars (especially the LC!) would have that type of treatment as well.
What paint did you use, how many coats were needed?

I'm interested in knowing what paint (specific color) and how many coats, too...thank you! Greg

I used a Krylon rattle can paint, Satin Khaki color. I taped off the mounting points that go into the car, as I didn’t want any paint rubbing off on it. Cleaned it good with alcohol, but didn’t scuff it up or anything like that. I did several light coats to avoid dripping, and the frame was easy, other than having to move it around to get all the angles. The webbing was another story. It is very difficult, if not impossible to get smooth coverage on. I did lots of passes on it, and it still isn’t perfect. Kind of looks like there are some shadows on it, but I don’t think it is really noticeable to other people - definitely doesn’t look bad in any respect. I wanted to try and find a fabric dye or something like that, but didn’t have any luck, so went this route. I may take it out at some point and shoot the webbing again, but I’m actually really happy how it turned out. I was also afraid that paint might clog the very tight webbing on the screen, but no issues there at all either. Visibility is no worse than looking through it when it was black either. I went through a bit more than one can, just because of the number of passes on the webbing. I just think it looks so much better overall now!
