Default Simple exhaust appearance mods

Hello all!

We’re new to the LC family, and pretty much love the car as she is.

An aesthetic that I don’t like so much are the fake exhaust ports, and the chrome in the diffuser above them.

I’ve seen many people remove these exhaust boxes, and install aftermarket tips or axle back; and de-chrome the OEM diffuser.

I don’t care to spend thousands for simple visual mods, as we don’t seek any sound or performance improvements.

Wanted to ask this:
1) Have you physically removed the diffuser chrome, or simply had it wrapped?

2) If I remove the exhaust boxes from the diffuser, what about having simple stainless tips welded to the existing OE tailpipes. Say four 4” rounds?

I dislike plasti-dip. I’d either remove the chrome, or have it wrapped. Last resort would be having it painted/powdercoated. Want a quality finish, but don’t want to spend thousands for unneeded parts.

Hahaha. Well, you pay for what you desire; ROI.

Work too hard to spend unnecessarily.

Are you going to wrap the diffuser trim and the large exhaust openings?

Yes to both, I don't want any chrome. I have the black chrome trim package so these pieces on the back are the only silver/chrome on the car and thus look to me like an after thought. I'll be blacking them out, probably will wrap the diffuser trim with it on the car if it seems doable once I see it up close, but I'll remove the exhaust cutouts in order to wrap them.

I don't want fake tips unless I actually have upgraded the exhaust

I really like that look; but will still replace the faux tips.

Did you wrap the diffuser chrome; matte black?

Don’t forget the katanas on the roof. And the bottom part of the spindle grill. Even with the dark chrome, I feel that bottom piece of the spindle too chromie.

I think it would look okay if you just added on some 4inch stainless steel pipe exhaust tips. At least it’ll become visible through this squareish chrome piece

For tips, I really like these…they remind me
of the OE exhaust our F Type had. Simple and quality.

I figured I'd make that determination once I see the car. I think it'll be easy enough to ask my ppf guys to wrap those black instead of with ppf if I don't like it initially. Come to think of it I'll ask them to do the same on the exhaust and diffuser trim too, I think in my head I assumed those wouldn't be PPFd but I'll have to ask if they're included in the package I purchased.
