Default 295/35 21

I'm guessing this has already been asked but I could not find the answer so I apologize.

Does anyone know whether this tire size will be ok (with no rubbing, etc.) on a stock wheel, no spacer, out back? I know the wheel is .5 inch too narrow for this tire, but I've done that before with other cars (also, I am thinking of doing the Michelin PS4 AS, which tend to run a tad narrow).

Was going to do 255/40 21 in front (which I know others have done with no issue).

Thank you.

As you said, tire manufacturers say it's two wide for a 9½" wheel. I run 295/35/21 on my 10½" Vossen wheels with an aggressive offset with no issues. I know you want to run All Seasons, but why not this tire:

It will work on a 9½" wheel.

Just looking ahead a few months from now when I have to take off the summers. My car has Pilot Sport 5 right now. Don't want to swap 2x per year so will do all seasons. I know can do OEM size in the back and 255/40 in the front.

^^^^I grew up in Massachusetts (West Newton) then lived In Blackstone and worked in Waltham. IMHO, AS tires don't work in the New England climate. Even back 50 years when I left the state I was running dedicated snows with studs.

As you may suspect, my RWD convertible is not my daily. I'm not gonna drive it in the snow.

I've always run at least one of our cars with dedicated winter tires, but global warming and all...we hardly get meaningful snow anymore.

not sure about stock on back and 255/40 on front, won't that be a smaller sidewall on the back than the front?

not sure i've seen a pic with 285/35 back and 255/40 on front (i.e., one size up), but i'd like to!
