About to buy a 2024 LC convertible but interested in learning others' experiences with Lane Tracing Assist. Spoiled by Volvo's Steering Assist that works just about perfectly. Thanks for any insights.
Rhetorical question. If car does steering for you what are you going to do that time? Watching it and bite your nails worrying if it will take you to the ditch.
Pick your nose. Put on your make up. Scratch your butt. Etc.
I haven’t tried it on the ‘24 since I actually want to drive the car. But it supposedly much better than the ‘23 or prior. safety system 2.5 is an improvement over the safety system +.

Thanks for the substantive part of your response. My wife and I intend to use the car on long highway trips. She especially likes being able to use the Volvo's steering assist on hours-long stretches of interstate. We aren't going to sleep or read or text and we stay alert with hands on the wheel. I don't need a lecture on the joy of driving. We've had his and hers 16-valve 190Es, a C6, two MGBs and other driver's cars. I just want to understand what I'd be getting.
I can try it this weekend and report back. I know my ‘17 RX lane assist would just ping pong all over the road. Lane assist is more of a reactive system than a proactive on the newer lane tracing.
It's probably not as excellent as my Cadillac CT6 Platinum's. The only reason I bought the cadi was because of it's super cruise because I do very long trips. On the Cady you don't have to touch the wheel every few seconds. It scans your eyes to see if you are looking forward. On the LC you have to touch the wheel like on mercedes models which I find annoying since I got spoiled with the Cadi.
FWIW - I don't have anything I can compare it to but a Tesla, which I don't think it compares... but it did an 'ok' job of staying in the lane. I didn't really use it too much as I enjoy driving so I don't view it as a "hands-off" type driving like Tesla.
Get OpenPilot form Comma. The version installed in 2024 LC500 is behind RX and other new Lexus modes. OpenPilot enhances is beyond good. Feel free to ping me if you have any questions. Happy to share my experience with it. There is also a post from me with some details.
Absolutely ROTFLMAO thinking that you have one of they most Finest driving vehicles on planet Earth and you wanna spend more money and jump through all your hoops To Not Have To Actually Drive It.
Unbelievable.

I’m not able to take the LC out this weekend because of the rain as you know in MA.
Given that the ‘24 LC500 rides on the same Safety System 2.5 like this RCF, I expect to be the same. This is what I’ve been hearing about the new Lane Tracing. It actually keep the car centered in the lane rather than ping pong back and like previous gen Lane Assist. Honestly, the new tech in the Lexus really making me considering trading in the ‘17 RX family car for long trips.
You call it harsh, I call it logical reality.
I see no problem with drawing the line between (60's beatnik voice) Oh he's just doin' his thang maaaan And, Man is that effin stupid.
If I take a freakin Sallszall to my Coupe because I'm convinced I can do Almost as good of a job of making a Vert as the factory just how far is that really from say those wheel spinners that stick 3 feet out from each wheel hub? Are you Really telling me the Forum doesn't allow ANY differentation between Ohhh His thing just isn't My thing And Hey, Sorry, to Me, that's just effin stupid?
Sorry, I see spending time and more money on a clapped together, not work worth a flying damn, hardware floating all around the car interior, cluster F that basically negates One of the Main reasons for buying The Fine Example of Driving Excellence that is an LC to start with, as closing in rapidly on Hey, that's just effin stupid.
Bring your pride and joy $100k LC with your cool 3 feet off each wheel spinners HERE and in my opinion, you deserve whatever doing that gets you.
Are you Seriously taking me I Can't call THIS what Everyone Here knows it Really Is??
