On the freeway the other day , I ran over a small rubber piece of tire that was unavoidable. It shot up and hit the very bottom of the rear quarter panel right behind the rear tire. There are a few scratches that I would not mind taking care of if it is not a big deal. Is that bottom quarter panel fiberglass or plastic; and can that small area be color sanded? Don’t want to repaint that area for these small scratches. It is a little to deep to buff out because you can feel the scratches with your nail. Thanks in advance.
Wood, The Qtrs/Hips are made of steel base I believe, where as most of the car is aluminum. They balanced out the weight front to back with this combination of metals.

So they added weight to the car on purpose?. 53 percent of the weight is on the front the wheels. They redistributed the weight, battery, but I am sure they did not add weight to rear. If this is true they should have made the rear fenders out thicker metal or even lead. You can throw an additional 128lbs. in the trunk and you will have near perfect weight distribution. Well that is until you get in the car. Maybe I misunderstood your comment.
