I AM a little curious. This alledged middle of the seats Alcantara. It sure is not the Same Alcantara as the door panels. And yes, I get it, you're not usually rubbing your butt all over the door panels while you drive, still, it's a dramatically different material on the seats. I view Alcantara as more what is on the door panels.
IMO, the important items with Alcantara are to keep the dirt and dust off it and keep the nap standing up. Here are the 2 brushes I bought for mine. The Geist one I got the Medium size. It is about half the size of the Sonax one and is better for the tight corners. Bruce in Fl

I don't think convertibles have any Alcantara, but could be wrong. Maybe on the headliner? Which is where it belongs, IMO.Convertible owners need to chime in, since I'm not interested on those, so not familiar with them, other than all have sport seats, for what I've seen.
I don't think the convertibles have alcantara because apparently it's more of an issue if it gets wet. I actually think the doors look significantly better on the convertible. I wish I could get the convertible doors on the coupe. I really only like alcantara on the headliner. The coupe interior still looks amazing regardless, but I just prefer the convertible doors.

You know, I saw a convertible, and didn't have Alcantara indeed, so maybe on the photos wasn't clear. And yes, I also much prefer leather on the doors, and Alcantara only on the headliner, pillars, and visors. And as far as contrasting colors inside, I like everything black, except seats, door inserts, and maybe center console lid, preferably in white or light gray. And on white or silver exterior. Yeah, kind of boring. Ha ha.

Nothing boring about that JC, to each his own.
