Hi everyone, new potential 2019 LC owner here. I saw this display on the steering column and I’m wondering what it is? The drivers attention package was not an offered option on the LC’s that I was aware of and it does not look like this unit. The dealer thinks is almost certain to be factory and has certified the vehicle. I just have never seen it on any other LC. Any guesses? Thanks

Edit - Well that explains it The dealer really should have known, it appears to be a new feature in the MY2024 LC I checked the owners manual and can not find any mention. I also checked the 2024 brochure and can not see any pics with this feature.

Never saw anything like that before❓ Did you investigate - did you start up the car, was there any information in the display⁉️ Am interested.

 

Well at least I’m not crazy because I’ve never seen it either! I tried doing a ton of research on my own before bothering you all. I appreciate the interest. I’m buying it virtually since the car is a few states away. Even the dealer is baffled.

 

That does not belong there. Could the steering column have been damaged, even just cosmetically, and been replaced with that part for ease/availabilty? Does it even function?

 

It has digital readout in one of the dealer photos but it was blurry. It also looks to have buttons on the right side. I’ll know more once it’s delivered

 

It looks to be a 2024 safety feature where it alerts you if you take your eyes off the road. I believe it’s part of that safety sense crap.

but yours is a 2019 so it must be something else aftermarket. Nobody had this system on their rides

 

Just checked my 2024 convertible, that's not there. Wasn't on my '21 convertible either.

But our cars don't really have "hands free" like a Tesla. No idea why a 2019 would have it but not my '21 or '24.

You should try and find out who owned that vehicle before you. Maybe the previous owner installed it, and it might be eye tracking, or could be something else. I'd definitely try and find out if the dealer could call the previous owner and ask them. If the dealer doesn't know, then they didn't install it, which would most likely point to the prior owner.

 

I bet it is a full installed radar detector. The ones by Escort mount the readers in the grill and a display is mounted somewhere in the vehicle.

i'd be very leery about buying the car sight unseen if it's a 2019. if that's not on someone else's 2024 and it's certainly never been on prior year models then it must have been custom installed either to add the feature (seems unlikely) or (more likely) to replace a damaged steering column surround, possibly as a result of an accident.

i would demand an explanation at the very least.

and really makes me think you may be dealing with a scammer if you have never seen or sat in the car.. NO 2019 has anything like that and would make me think the person is using stock photo's in his ad.
