Default Finally Installed

I finally installed this yesterday:

https://www.rr-racing.com/Lexus-V8-u...rrr-v8dmpr.htm

On initial full throttle start, my LC got rubber in second gear and the rear end danced sideways Never did that before Yep, the pulley works

The wrong damper can destroy an engine, so I'd be EXTREMELY wary of such a critical mod. At least it looks like a reputable company, and a quality product specific to the 5.0L Lexus V8, because you're risking the health of your engine on that thing. Good luck.

What a dumbass thing to do to a $100,000 car. And no, this isn't for cool modders to do their thang, this is just pure stupidity.

PLEASE IGNORE @BruceinFla . He trolls every LC owner who talks about modding their cars. He does this on every FB LC Group post.

He's like a 911 purist X2.

He doesn't understand that cars are built using a compromise between engineering and accounting.

Took about two hours working both from beneath and and from the top. Installed with a friend who owns a mechanic shop, so a lift made the job easier.

Mr. Bruce you have posted quite a bit old this forum, you have some strong opinions, most of which I take exception to. However when you post your thoughts and I disagree, I remain silent, I have never called you a derogatory name let alone a "dumbass"
Now as to my penchant for modifications of my vehicles, I have been buying cars since 1957, new cars since 1962 and I have never left a vehicle stock. My truck is also modded. Yep, in my mind I make 'em better As far as the pulley damper is concerned, as you can see this was created for the Lexus 2UR. Many ISF, RCF, GSF and IS500 owners have installed this since it was introduced late last year. There have been no issues and the reviews I have read have been all positive. I should note the my LC also has PPE Headers, Dual Mode Exhaust. and non-stock wheels with PS4S tires. As far as my choice of cars, I have owned makes from Porsche to GTOs to Trans-Ams. I have also owned a Modded Lexus 5MT SC300 and a modded Lexus ISF.

Now as I close - YOU be YOU and I'LL be Me

Just to add - Remember this post:

In principle, I have no real issues with modding a LC.
I do however have A Major Issue with replacing a state of the art Anything with a new made from sticks and rocks addition.

Oh please please stop stop. I can't take it any longer.
I am laughing my *** off so hard I'm crying at IDIOTS trying to make ME think that taking a recognized chance of Grenading a hand built engine in a $100,000 car is a Great Idea. (Generally speaking, not targeting anyone particular.)
So damn hilarious these newer gens who are taught from day 1 they aren't Ever Wrong they're just different.
That's ok. The rest of us KNOW which side of the zoo bars we're Really On.
Bruce who is happy he didn't get a participation trophy

How big of a modders trophy do I get if I'm the only one who transplants a Saab Sonnet 4 cylinder 2 stroke into my LC because I think it's cool?
Can I be Offended Too if someone posts that my Lexus LC Sonnet is a Stupid idea? Just how wide of a line is it between Because I Think It's Cool from That's a Stupid idea?

should be booted from the forum.

I suggest you spend a little time Googling, Educating Yourself as you obviously missed That Day in school where they taught the difference between Ridiculing AN IDEA and Ridiculing A PERSON.
Though the line Between The Two may be a Fine line, IT IS a line none the less.
This was also taught in Net Forums 101, you must have missed that class too.

Bruce,

I'm going to ask you to exit this thread. There are so many more polite and mature ways to express your perspective and concerns without using words that seem to be aimed at other members (vs their vehicle) like 'dumbass', 'IDIOTS' and 'stupidity'. And no I did not miss that day in school, I read your intent very clearly as did other members.

Also not asking you to agree with Lou's modifications, but he's done this sort of thing rather successfully on several past Lexus that he's owned and he's well versed in the risk vs reward.

———

edit, other folks let’s move on from this conflict please.

Got any objective metrics for us to compare?

Pully looks like an easy way to lower rotating mass.

@flowrider all still good? Considering this mod. Did you buy the combo set or just the single damper pulley?
