Got pulled over on my way to work this morning, LOL. I like to do a morning blast across the Sand Key bridge (the one I like to take photos on - see below) to get the old heart pumping and our local finest was waiting for me on the other side I was a little worried cuz I usually hit about 80 - 85 at the top of the bridge and I forgot to put my seat belt on for some reason and my top was down so it would have been obvious if I tried to put it on at the last second.
Officer was very cool and just reminded me of what the speed limit is on the bridge (30) cuz you can’t see what’s on the other side til you crest the top. Said it was the “first time I pulled over one of these - what is it?” I said it was “one of them fancy Toyotas”. He chuckled and asked me for my license and said if everything checked out he’d just give me a warning - didn’t even ask me for my registration and insurance! He came back and told me to drive safely and have a good day.
So technically I’m still a “safe driver” - says so right on my license

Registration and insurance come up when they run your license if I'm not mistaken. I haven't had to show that in a long time.

I think its been over six years since I got a ticket (speed trap on the FL- GA border) but I used to get them all the time - my license was suspended when I was 17 They would almost always ask me for license, registration, and insurance.
Ironically my lady friend and I just saw Sammy Hagar perform “I Can’t Drive 55” this past Saturday night They played at the beautiful brand new “Sound”’ amphitheater which overlooks Clearwater Harbor. Would never guess Sammy is 76 years old - he was still very good! He played all his old solo hits plus his hits with Van Halen and even one early Van Halen / David Lee Roth song “in tribute to Eddie”. They also played some Led Zep cuz their drummer Jason Bonham is the son of John Bonham which was super cool! Michael Anthony from Van Halen is also in the band so it was almost like a mini Van Halen concert but without Alex and Eddie (RIP)
So I was in the snack line after George Thorogood finished his opening act and there were 2 teenage girls standing behind me. I hear one of them say to the other “who are we here to see again?” and the other girl says “I think his name is Sammy?”. So I turn around and say “excuse me - not trying to listen in but did I hear you just say you don’t even know who you’re here to see?” The girls say “yeah our Dad picked out this concert for us”
