Downshifting Advice Needed
What's the best method or advice to get those amazing sounds when downshifting with the paddles? I'm somewhat new to paddle shifting and mostly just used automatic shifting in my previous cars. Trying to get the hang of paddle shifting with the LC. When I downshift in the lower rpm range while slowing down the car it doesn't make those amazing sounds. When I downshift while the rpms are higher I get cool sounds, but the car lunges or jerks a bit. How do I prevent that lunging while downshifting at higher rpms?
Unless I’m really flogging it - I like to upshift and downshift between about 3,500 and 4,000 rpm’s - that seems to be the sweet spot for when the VVTi or whatever they call it kicks in and the exhaust sounds especially wicked to my ear when the rpm’s go down or up by one gear. I believe the lunging upon downshifts is also minimized in that range compared to higher rpm’s. This is in Sport S + mode which I’m in 95% of the time - results may be different in other modes.

Yep, it's all about where your RPMs are at. I usually get the best result when my RPMs (after shifting down) are in the ~3500 range. Which should have you downshifting around ~2000-2500 RPMs?
Also FYI, you can see the gear selection much better if you modify the dash setup. Watch 29:28 until about 31:35 in this video:

A Paddle shifter nOOb here too with the same issues as the OP. I'd kind of figured out the 3500-4k deal but also do my paddling in Confort mode. I just don't see
an obvious reason to shift to Sport in no curve Central Fla.
Sure does turn that AUTO Smile into a Big s*** eating GRIN.

I found that sport mode, or sport+ mode actually lowers the noise and the amount of pops/burbles. Its probably due to the programming as it allows for faster shifts / flow through the exhaust
Try this: put it in comfort, then slowly ramp it up. Past 3500rpm it get super loud and just keep slowly increase it till redline. its mind-blowingly good.
Then pop off a few downshifts when you reach 4-5k rpm and it'll pop like crazy (especially when the engine is fully warmed up and hot).
