It doesn't help that most LC500 sent to dealers are ordered in UltraWhite or Caviar. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1519444085
There are more Cadmium Orange sold for MY23 and MY24 than Flare Yellow (looking at Coupes only) and an equal number of Copper Crest sold (with more on their way to dealers).
Question is will these new owners make an account and introduce themselves and voter for science.
LOL, thats right - this is very important scientific survey That spreadsheet link you posted is awesome - by chance is there one available that has all the sales going back to the first model year? Im pleased to see that of the 309 units on those 2 pages that only 3 were Flare Yellow - which is just under 1% if my math is correct - I like not seeing any other yellows - the only other Flare Ive seen in person was Josephs at our recent mini Florida LC500 rally.

With 57 votes in, Infrared is still in the lead (10 votes) with Atomic pulling ahead for sole possession of 2nd place (8 votes) and Flare, Ultra, and Caviar in a three-way tie for 3rd place (7 votes apiece). The Top 5 are currently:
-1 Infrared with 10 votes
-2 Atomic Silver with 8 votes
-3 (Tie) Flare Yellow with 7 votes -3 (Tie) Ultra White with 7 votes
-3 (Tie) Caviar (Black) with 7 votes
Also, I was at the dealer for an oil change this morning and the new for 2024 Copper Crest was in the showroom along with a drop dead sexy 2018 Nightfall for sale for only $62K although it has 64K miles and 2 blemishes on its CarFax. I must say the Copper Crest looks much better in person although it still wouldnt be my first choice.

Copper Crest is a stunning color in the sunlight. It is a shame you cannot spec Copper Crest with the Rioja Red Interior (at least not an option in the US).

Was able to pose my Flare Yellow with what Im guessing may be the rarest color Cadmium Orange, which, along with Autumn Shimmer, currently has ZERO votes in this scientific poll It was overcast when I took this pic so it would probably pop more in the sunshine.
I believe the rarest color is Autumn Shimmer. A MY2018 and MY2019 color. When I was shopping for mine, that was on the top of my list. But I couldn't find one and I've never seen one. I did see Autumn Shimmer on another Lexus, an SUV years ago, and liked it a lot.

As an owner of an Infrared LC, I often notice other red cars on the road. The Mazda Soul Red Crystal always catches my eye, and I feel like it somewhat cheapens my Infrared LC. While looking at the two colors online, I came across this comparison on a Mazda Miata forum. https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=786113
Where Soul Red 41V as you might know is three layers...
Lexus decided to up the ante with four layers for Infrared:
"December 25, 2013
Lexus new RC coupe, which goes on sale in the fall, will offer a shimmering finish thanks to a special painting process that involves the application of no less than four base coats. The new finish, shown here in a bright red that not even Rudolphs nose can match, uses a twin-color base of both silver and red.
The finish is achieved through a meticulous process using four base coats of paint which are then baked twice. Layers of colored and clear coating are used to control some of the colors reflections and establish a balance between the brightness and depth--two elements that traditionally work against each other.
First, a base coat of silver is applied and then covered in a clear coat. Next, the clear coat is covered by a translucent red coat, which is then topped with another clear coat, making four in total.
As a result, light hitting the paint reflects off the red layer but also off the silver layer deep below, which adds depth and a metallic highlight to the red coloration. Prior to this new process, Lexus simply used base coats with the same color tone (in this case, it would have been red and red)."
Mazda then countered with Soul Red Crystal, adding light absorbing particles which increases depth and contrast. Personally while I think SRC is a stunning blood red in the right light conditions, the contrast between light and dark areas is too high for my taste, so I think the original Soul Red works better on cars.
Either way, I came across a Lexus in Infrared today, and the difference with 41V is really small. The paint had a bit more gloss to it (I don't detail my car in any special way), but if you ignore that, the color is almost exactly the same despite the different process.
