Default 24 Infotainment system

I am wondering if all of you 2024 owners can tell me your opinion and/or troubles with the infotainment system. We bought a 2023 RX350h with a new similar looking infotainment system to what I can see in the pictures. It might be different though, because ours has the 3.0 safety system as yours is the 2.5. Our infotainment system has been nothing but troubles. I don't want to get a 24 if it is problematic. Our problems are that the profiles for each driver get lost, it loses profiles completely. The remote start via app doesn't always work, etc. Has been to dealer about 4 times to resolve and we're getting it back today to see if the fixed it. Thanks

This same new infotainment has been out on NXs and RXs for a while now. Lots of complaints across all these boards so I’m sure the LC could potentially have the same issues.

the only good thing is they can do software revisions / updates that might remedy these problems. Older ones the software wasn’t as easily upgradable (but also you don’t have as many issues).

True enough. I just don't understand why Lexus hasn't provided a firmware update that addresses the issues the so many complain of.

I took delivery of an LC last week, and this issue with losing profiles and getting logged out of the infotainment was a pretty big disappointment. I looked into some cars being able to attach driver profile to the key, however it didn’t seem to be an option. I changed my phone to disable CarPlay and only use Bluetooth, and have had 0 issues since.

IIUC, the issue is a combination of CarPlay/AA being garbage flaky products and Lexus naively expecting everyone to always want to use their phone to log in, which I think is stupid.

because software is hard. presumably they don't have a fix yet, or they would most likely have already released it.

Yeah, I'm sure it will require a lot of digging deep into the weeds to find the conflict but, as the problem was identified so long ago, it seems like there has been ample time to address it. As I understand it, the cars with the new infotainment system will refer to both the key fob as well as the cell phone. From what I have been able to gather, the key fob sets the position for the driver's seat, side-view mirrors and steering wheel while the phone determines the profile that loads into the infotainment t system. I could have that wrong though so I don't state that as fact. Having both the key fob(s) and phone(s) with which to sync seems cumbersome to me. But I'm a retired dentist, not a retired computer programmer, so what do I know?!

One thing to note is that on the '24 LC, the climate control has hard buttons and is effectively separate, though the Climate Concierge features are integrated. I've had my '24 for a couple of weeks and I'm fine with it, but I just spent a weekend in my sister-in-law's '23 NX 350 and Jesus Christ that touch climate system is infuriating. I'm assuming your RX has the same thing.

The LC is still very new to me and I haven't had any glitches or complaints yet, but time will tell. I personally will die on the hill of rather having the frontal camera (the 360-degree camera view on this thing is crystal clear) and wireless CarPlay over the nicely flush screen in the 2018-2023 models.

To each his own. the more I drive the car the less I care about not having a 360 degree camera. It’s a nice feature (got it on the wife’s RX) but I always back into a spot anyways so not a deal breaker.

Wireless car play is solved by a 60 dollar aliexpress unit that plugs into the usb.
