Default 2021/2022 vs. new 2023 LC 500 DYNAMIC HANDLING

I have been trying to do my research on purchasing a LC 500 with the performance package/ Dynamic Handling Package. I know or think that Lexus made a change to the suspension of the LC 500 around 2021 ? And when they did they also changed the name from performance package to Dynamic Handling package. The question I have is this in fact correct ? Did lexus make noticeable changes to the performance and suspension starting in 2021 ? And is there any difference between a 2021 and a brand new 2023 LC 500 with the Dynamic Handling Package ?

From what I am seeing in pricing you can save yourself around $ 20,000.00 by purchasing a 2021 lightly used certified with the Performance/ Dynamic Handling Package vs. a brand new 2023.

Any accurate INFO would be much appreciated.

Thank You.

i have a '21 lc500 with dynamic handling package. i have never compared it to others before or after in model year, but yes, lexus did say it made changes for '21 which were somewhat significant because they lightened some components which should improve ride and handling. i honestly have no idea if i could tell if i were to drive any other model year but i expect the differences to be pretty subtle, although i heard the 2018's were a fair bit stiffer. i will say that i love the dynamic handling package, particularly the variable steering, made even better with rear wheel steering.

mine is caviar/black if you want to make me an offer i can't refuse via pm.

Thank You for the information ! Nice to hear from someone who actually owns a LC 500. Just curious, how does the LC 500 HANDLE as far as cornering and driving on back roads, in other words aggressive driving/caynon carving ?

Are you not happy with the LC 500 ?

first this is not a light car, so it's no miata.
people's expectations vary, but this is all the handling i need. moreover, i find it corners very flat, but i also think the rear steer helps by rotating the car and not just relying on front steering input with inevitable understeer unless you hit the gas. also, it has an lsd of course, and this also means the traction is great, or just fun if you gas it out of a u-turn.
being in florida i don't have canyons but i am in a rural area with some nice somewhat hilly and twisty roads and as i said, it's all the handling i need... i'm not someone who will be going 80 into a right angle turn. if you want that, get a porsche gt3 or something.
besides 'aggressive driving' though i should also mention the flip side, it's a wonderfully smooth highway cruiser and the seats are remarkably comfortable for short or long journeys.

Are you not happy with the LC 500 ?
i love my lc but maybe i have pangs of guilt because i don't drive it much and could certainly use the sale money for other things. but i don't need to sell it and have no issue keeping the wonerful car!

Thank You. You explained that perfectly. I have been watching the LC 500 since it came out and I have finally gotten to the point where I am interested. Love the looks, love the interior, and I love the build quality. Although it will not be a daily driver for me and I tend to lean towards performance vehicles if they are not my daily drivers. For example my non daily drivers that I own are a GT 350 R and a GT 500 CFTP Shelby mustangs, and my love affair with them is the performance, and the looks. For me it is a special occasion to get up very early in the morning and drive upto to 2 hours 1 way to get to my driving destination to really enjoy the performance of those 2 mustangs.

I'm just trying to figure out where the LC 500 will fit into the equation and I would hope it would be a car that I would want to take out for those early morning BONKERS drives.

From what you are saying I should save $ 20,000.00 and pick up a lightly used certified 2021.

i'm not saying what you should do. used cars are always cheaper. i like new cars. everyone's different.

i got a '21 instead of a '20 though because of hearing about the lowering of unsprung weight, plus the addition of android auto (which can't be added to the stock system before '21).

Just to add - In 2021 they added a Yamaha Performance Damper to the Sport and DH Packages. Optional with the LSD on other LC models. Don't know how much difference that made.

nice. thanks. was the damper available before '21 then? if so, in what package or was it a la carte or something.

as far as a difference, i assume lexus saw some benefit but who knows. i believe it's supposed to lessen chassis vibrations as it's a shock/damper that goes horizontally between the rear axles?
