Gas Struts Warning Do not use stock shocks, dampers, struts, or springs. Carbon products are lighter in weight, so these mechanisms may prevent your hood and/or trunk from closing and may cause products to crack due to pressure.

Wonder what the weight difference is between the stock one and the Seibon. If it does crack they might ask if you used the OEM struts.
The seibon hood weighs 41lbs. Its about the same as the stock hood. It's a visual mod really, it's not made of dry carbon. It's CFRP wet carbon.

What are you going to do with the OEM Hood? We have basements for that sort of stuff here in Georgia

No need to remove the bumper. You should have enough room to access without. Also, yes the carbon hood weighs pretty much the same as oem so you can reuse the same struts.

Does that hood sit higher than OEM?
These guys are installing a supercharger and have been posting several short clips lately showing the progress. Not sure if the hood was already on the car or if they installed it specifically for this build.

Based in pics it appears to sit the same but there may be room inside if it doesn't have the same thickness/liner etc on the underside? I'll post some pics when mine is delivered
