Default V-LED High Power LEDs vs. LED Boards

Just thought I'd post my thoughts on the V-LED high power lineup vs. LED boards. IMO, the V-LED high power bulbs are better because not only are they brighter (except for the festoon bulbs) they are a more specific, "perfect" replacement. In other words, for the festoon bulbs, you can buy a festoon bulb replacement and for the flank bulbs, you can buy a flank bulb replacement.

With LED boards, you get the same board for every application with a bunch of adapters to make it work. You also have to deal with double sided tape on the back of LED boards, which are prone to melting and it's difficult to get the board to face in exactly the right direction. Plus, you have unsightly wires going all over the place. A made a separate thread for my suggested LED replacement guide: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...de-w-pics.html. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:

^It's hard tell in this picture, but the V-LEDs are on the left and are noticeably brighter.

Do you have a link for the v-led bulb you used here? I got the LED board for the trunk light from Nigel and am pretty happy, but the v-led is even brighter?? OOO haha

Are these bulbs also the same for the trunk light?

Check my guide here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...de-w-pics.html

That particular festoon bulb is http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...08258-1-3.html. However, I think this is the one exception where an LED board might be brighter than its V-LED high power equivalent. I'm going to try swapping them for this, which is twice as bright: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/C...48541-1-3.html

For the trunk, I actually had difficulty using the festoon bulbs. I recommend this for the trunk instead: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/C...60694-1-3.html

+1. For the record, the festoon bulb does fit in the trunk light, but the housing for that bulb is kind of awkward and IMO better suited for a board.
