Default Shaking at the stop light

This morning on my way to work, my car did something funny. I was stopped at a stop light, and I felt my car (IS250 automatic) shake. It only happened for a few seconds, but it kind of felt like I was going to stall. I don't drive my car rough, and it has a little under 3k miles on it.

Any ideas why this happened?

Thanks,
Erin

it happens because your injectors are keeping your engine at its bare minimum requirement, so it keeps it close to the point where itll shutdown. i had the same concern for my vehicle and asked a master tech, so im relaying the info from him. hopefully im not screwing up like you do in the game 'telephone'

It seems to be normal to the 250. Just like Chums say they lean out the mixture of the gas and causes the engine to miss. The Industry calls it lean idle missfire, it is suppose to reduce emission. I dont think the 350 does that because of the extra injectors that it has.

Have a margarita for me too!!!

Yep, I got same problem too and it happens intermittenly. When I brought my car in for 5K service, the service guy did a test drive and he can't find anything unusual. He said the car is fine so I said ok whatever. I guess it's normal so no worries.

I have a 350, done it to me three times ever since I owned the car. Hasn't done it recently though. Ah well, as long as it doesn't stall on me i don't care. Oh, and it's only on the way to work. Mebbe it's telling me something.

Back on topic, I hope it's a normal thing for an IS to do this. I kind of feel better that I am not the only one that this has happened to.
Erin, this happened to me the other day so no worries. I never had my gen one or gen 2 die out yet (LOL). It was smart to post your thread to ask others opinions. This way, we all realize we are not OCD or going insane when we feel the idle drop a bit and kit back up in a noticeable fashion.

As for Acapulco, make sure not to drink to many Margaritas, inhibitions will be more apparent and you may subsequently end up with a lowered expectation.

Yikes! That would be a vacation I would never forget...haha I am pretty good at knowing my limit when it comes to drinking. Nobody likes to be around a sloppy drunk.
