I'm here to tell you that 285/30/19 works just fine with our stock wheels on the rear. Today I put on Continental Extreme DW 245/35/19 on the front and the 285s on the stock wheels. Every thing fit just fine. Pics. are attached showing the rear tire bulge, which is much less than I expected. IMHO, these fit just fine.

Nice. Amazed how the rear tire's bulge isn't extreme. I also have a new set of Extreme contact DW tires but I went 245/35 front and 275/30 rear. I haven't installed them yet but I will soon. Hows the handling difference with the 285 rears? Assuming your lowered by your member name any rubbing issues?

 

^^^^Nope, I am not lowered, nor will I ever be. My member name comes from the Harley I used to ride I've only put about 60 miles on the tires, and so far no rubbing issues. I'll let them set before I become too rambunctious.

Offset makes all the difference. But you have to also remember different tire companies measures tire different. Michelins usually measure bigger than what they advertise. But anyway, how do the Conti's feel compared to the PS2's?...Darshana S...

 

^^^^Yep offset does make all the difference, which was one of the reasons I stayed with the stock BBSs. Another .5" in width would have allowed me to go with 295s in back and 255s in front, but what I have is great As far as size differences go between manufacturers, I check dimensions over at the Tire Rack, and the PS2 and the DW are so close, as to be clones as far as dimensions go.

How's the steering response with the DW compared to the PS2? I've read on tirerack's tire testing the DW's wasn't as good as the PS2 but the DW's dry handling performance was pretty superb.

I've had them on for about 2 hundred miles now. Original opinion still stands. They're quieter than the PS2s, and due to the extra width seem better planted. In a wide sweeper exit of the freeway, I seem to be better able to hold a line, and I can do it at a slightly speed. Things seem very stable on the freeway at speed. The sidewall design is not as fancy as the PS2s, but this tire seems like one heck of a buy, IMHO.

I've been looking at these tires for a while now. They seem to be on par with PS2 but at a much cheaper price. I'm almost certain that those will be my next set of tires. Thanks for the feedback and keep us posted as you put more miles on them.

I am kind of new here and am considering getting some new tires here now that my RE050A's are almost toast at 20k miles.

Original sizes are 225/40 and 255/35 - so my question is how much wider exactly can I go?

I see above 245-35 and 275-30 seems to be a good combo?

If anyone can offer some advice, i would greatly appreciate it.

^^^^I think my first post about sums it up. I went 245/35/19 in front and 285/30/19 in back. I wanted to keep the ODs as close as possible to stock and as close as possible to each other, front to back. IMO, the 275/30s are a wee bit to short.

I just picked up my set today and I must say I was shocked how light these tires are. I went for 245 front and 275 rear. Will mount them on sometime next week

nice, lou! great to hear that there are no issues with the upsize. been researching tires myself, so it's good to know that these will work. and they look great from the rear shot. definitely gives the F some more rubber to the road.

How is the sidewall feel? Does the extra width of the tire cause any noticeable sidewall slop? In fact, how are the sidewalls on these in general? Stiff as the PS2s??
