Everything looks fine as far as I can tell

Anything I should look for when replacing the transmission filter?

other than metal flakes in the fluid

Metal is the smallest of your worries. It's worn off friction material from the wet clutches that causes problems.

Well, AAMCO said the valve body was clogged

Does this mean replacing the solenoids could possible work?

Calling Lexus Corporate to complain since the car was regularly serviced at the dealer and see if they can help in anyway, not expecting them to, but worth a shot

Found a used ISF transmission from a 2012 with 22k miles that has been sitting at the salvage yard for three years, for a great price, so considering that

Not sure if you get this but my 08 with 154K feels weird when going from a stop. Feels like it's not in gear, revs a little bit, then catches first. Idk, I'm moving so I must be in gear, just feels like I'm not.

no sir, my car still pulls pretty hard lol it just flares and revs up at the end of shifts… particularly 3rd and 4th gear and more so in automatic mode

but, my reverse does that sometimes

if you believe it’s a transmission issue, id recommend replacing the trans filter and do a drain and fill

Keep in mind you'll need to flush the coolers at a minimum. Many would recommend replacing the air/oil cooler out of precaution. This is standard with engine oil coolers if there is an engine failure.

I’m going through with the new transmission via AAMCO.

They just ordered the transmission today and should be all finished by next Friday

It has under 30k miles with a 90 day warranty

He said they will flush the entire system

Going to upgrade the radiator, transmission cooler and engine oil cooler in the near future before I add performance mods

That's crazy you described it like that because my 08 is doing all 3 of those you just mentioned, car has 175k on it. The shift flares were frequent at one point but became kind of few and far between, but sometimes it will hang in gear for a few seconds if I make hard left turn. I was thinking maybe needed fluid top up but the Lexus dealership here is kind of leery of fluid changes on F trans I was told

At that mileage, I would drop the pan and replace the filter, then add 6 quarts of new fluid and set the level correctly. It will shift like new again.
