Hello,
Purchased a used 2009 IS-F recently with a faulty navigation system. Now that I had my fun ripping the v8, it's time to get the navi fixed. About the issue. The aux still works, AC still blows and the clock and AirBag On area is still working. It is a Mark Levinson system. However, the screen is completely black (not turning on) and the buttons on the left and right of the screen is not lighting up either. I have checked fuses are they aren't blown and tried resetting the battery and connections after taking it apart. Would someone kindly be able to point to me which board of the system is faulty? And I'm not too sure how navigation systems work, but in theory, would I be able to remove the unit and just replace it with one of these rather than replacing the faulty component?

everything thats working is on a separate circuit. is that link to the unit you have in the car? Hard to diagnose with aftermarket brands though...

Yes, there are sources for replacement boards in the OEM nav that might help. Honestly, since this unit is common to both IS F and all other 2IS, there's probably a whole lot more help in the regular 2IS forum for this kind of failure simply because they have a much larger population of owners and these failures are not common. The most common failure is the touchscreen stops responding, not the lights go out entirely.Originally Posted by silkorg

Sorry for the poor wording, I was going to ask if it's possible to replace the stock unit with an aftermarket unit and call it a day or if the stock unit is faulty, then slapping an aftermarket unit wouldn't do.
