Default Finally picking up a ISF

Finally after searching I’ll be picking ups friend 2008 ISF in white soon. Super excited and can’t wait to get it and drive it. I’m coming from a wrx sti hatchback.

question I have is my current wheels are the Volk ZE40 18x9.5 45 offset with 255/35r18. I believe the the isf are staggered but is there a downside to running squared? There will be no track days, mainly a daily driver. And is the 255 wide enough since I’ve seen wider tires on the Lexus.

plan is to also possibly lower with some springs but not too much.

thanks

I've seen many square setups. Congrats on the car, post pics when you get it.

That wheel setup will work. We usually recommend +35 for a flush fit but +45 will fit and many people run it and like it. You will have the ability to use a spacer to fine-tune the fitment as well.

sweet but do you think a 255/35 is too narrow or is that the correct size

I run 18x9.5 et 45 with 275/35/18 square. Many members use that for track and street use with zero issues. 255 is too narrow and the car will push in corners.

Maybe I'm blown' in the wind here - BUT I say an emphatic NO The Wheel and tire OD of your proposed setup is only 24.4" - stock is 26", that is a 1.6" difference, much to big IMHO.

that’s what I’m thinking - may have to swap the tires out.

255/40/18 matches stock almost exactly

Congrats on the new ride! Tire swap is definitely necessary. Lou is on point with the difference being too great. You'd be OK if they were 19" wheels, but at 18" they're too small.

here is a quick pic. Not in my possession yet. It’s a friend car and he’s ready in week or so. Gives me time to sell the Subaru WRX STi. Just took off the volk wheels and have it stored and will be looking for new tires soon. Super excited to drive Lexus soon

18x9.5 +38
on 255/40/18

I'll prob go at least 265 next time which should fit comfortably. 275 would prob fit as well but may depend on the tire section width profile
