Default Pre/Post Track Day rituals

Good Day Club Lexus!

Spring is here and lapping days are popping up every weekend! With my F out of commission last year, I wasn't able to enjoy the car - but after some considerable work, I'm finally ready to enjoy my car this season!

I wanted to get a pulse on what our casual, intermediate and pro track drivers do to prep their car for the abuse and what you look out for once the day is over. I acknowledge that everyone's car is set up different; so when you give you answer, give a brief summary of what mods you have!

For me, I'm a 2010 ISF - FBO, tune - USRS, RR Engine mounts, Oil, Trans & Radiator upgrades, Catch can, SS Brake lines + high temp brake fluid, OEM Rotors, HAWK HP+ Pads, redline diff fluid

For the track day my prep items are:
1) Brake Service
2) Ensure oil is healthy/clean
3) Alignment
4) Ensure fluids are upto date (trans, diff, coolant, oil)
5) Tire checks (pressure, wear, weathering)

Post track:
1) Oil change
2) Inspect vehicle for leaks
3) Empty catch can....
4) Check brakes for excessive wear

Let's hear it ladies & gents!

Changing your oil after a single track day is overkill.

You should check wheel lug torque at least at the beginning of any track day. Some recommend checking every session.

Changing the oil after every track day/weekend is way, way overkill and I have used oil analysis to support my claim.

Check the torque after the hubs cool
or you can snap a stud. Or better yet, upgrade the studs.
