I have one of the first RRRacing tuned intakes. I would like to wash the K&N filter but I'm unsure whether it is a dry or a wet filter. I believe it is a dry filter but just want to confirm. I believe later on they switched to oiled filters.
Im thinking more thank likely its wet, does K&N even offer have dry filters?
Yeah they also offer "non-oiled synthetic Dryflow" filters on some intakes. Some cars don't like the oiled ones since the MAF can get wet with oil and malfunction.
I tried to find it on the K&N website but there's nothing similar. They're either red (oiled) or black (dry). This filter is from the first tuned intakes so it's been a few years. I guess they discontinued it.
^^^^That's a wet filter. The red ones you see in picts. are red because the K&N oil, applied after cleaning, is red. That filter is pretty dirty and needs to be properly cleaned and oiled.
Note - After oiling let stand overnight before installing it back on the car.

This filter has been this color since I bought the intake. I also found similar color k&n filters on their website but with different shapes. I have several k&n filters and the red ones are red. They never get like this color even when they're dry and super dirty. Also, even though I installed this filter a long time ago, it only has about 5k miles. I rarely drive the car. I'll have to text Rafi for confirmation on this.

You asked the question, I answered from personal experience. If you want to argue find someone else to argue with
That's my guess as well that it is indeed a wet one that was never oiled with the K&N oil which is red and put back in dry🤷♂️......mine looks like that when I clean it with the recharge kit after rinsing out all of the oil before applying new oil to dry.
