Wondering if anyone has attempted to remove the cloth cover and surrounding on the top side of the air filter cover on their ISF? I have a k&n filter now but it seems like the top cover is restricting half of the air flow?

I am NOT a fan at all of the K&N and/or oiled drop in filter.. It requires additional maintenance and for many a CEL down the road when the oil particles attach themselves to the MAF sensor element.. which then also requires cleaning..
Also I would leave the Carbon Filter attached to the lid as is.. Over a decade ago members measured a HP loss when removed…

The filter is critical to ensuring any hydrocarbons in the intake are absorbed instead of released to atmosphere.
