Default Engine Oil Change

So it's time for my second oil change with this car and I'm thinking if it's acceptable to take it to any of the commercial oil change places or should I get it done at the dealer. Is there anything special or complicated with oil changes in the ISF that a joe blow oil shop can't handle? Let me know your thoughts.

honestly. like any service, find a trusted shop.

oil changes are by far the easiest service and fastest. BUT, can just as easily be screwed up and is crucial that the engine is properly topped off. Working as a service advisor, i have seen dozens of jiffy lube/ pepboys jobs where the filter wasnt changed or loose. drain plugs siliconed on due to damaged threads on the pan and so on.

find a reputable shop. that is my best advice.

You get what you pay for. Quick lube shops won't know what to do with an IS F. More than likely they'll make a muck of it.

If you want it done right.... do it yourself . It really is an easy job.

you will need a 10mm socket to take the plastic lower cover off. And don't forget to buy the 64mm oil filter socket as well, I prefer the metal filter sockets. Most of us here use synthetic oil!
