The replacement ISF
I looked online everyday for two months for another ISF, mostly in SoCal. I saw a handful of ISFs for sale in person, ranging from $18k to $33k, 65k to 120k miles, Obsidian Black, Matador Red Mica, Ultrasonic Blue, Smoky Granite Mica, 2008-2013 model years, and with varying degrees of body damage and mechanical issues. I was determined to strike a deal, whether it be on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Offerup, a stealership, or even a Club Lexus car. I was met with negative results. I expanded my search to 500 miles and was pleasantly surprised.
I found a 3 owner, Obsidian Black 2008 ISF with 66,000 miles in NorCal. I called the owner and chatted with him for a little bit. I addressed my concerns with the car and he sent me detailed pictures. I flew up north to meet the owner, test drove the car, and did a full inspection. I made an offer, he accepted, and I drove the car home 350 miles to Los Angeles.
I was originally looking for a completely stock vehicle, but I settled on a lightly modified vehicle. This one had a borla exhaust, aftermarket spoiler, 245/275 Michelin Pilot Sport tires, 15mm spacers, BC Racing coilovers, RR Racing LCA bushings and blackout trim.
Some interesting side notes: With enough effort, one can fit the stock exhaust system inside the cabin of the ISF with lots of bubble wrap. The previous owner graciously assisted in making everything fit just right. One can also achieve 25+ mpg on the highway and get a range of over 350 miles on a single tank of gas, cruising at 75mph. I never even came close to that mpg on my previous ISF.
Here it is! If you were looking for an ISF for sale in the past few months, I'm sure you saw this one floating around on the internet.
