2008 IS-F Advise
Hi All! -
First time poster seeking some advice. I've wanted an IS-F for a little over 5 years now. I just love the idea of having a powerful V8 engine combined with exceptional reliability. I've looked around for 2010-2011 models with mileage under 100k, but really haven't had much luck. However, I came across a super clean 2008 model with ridiculously low miles (41k). The dealer provided me with the Carfax and the only thing that really stands out is one minor accident and 4 owners. All of the maintenance records have been completed at the dealership. Is there really anything I should be aware of for a 1st gen model around this mileage range? I've lurked through some of these threads on here and it appears that cracked headers and coolant valley leaks seem to be the most common issue. I would really appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

Something tells me there's something wrong with the car.
When was the accident? 4 owners in 40k miles?? These cars are desirable and enjoyable to own....how car a perfectly conditioned/performing car have gone thru 4 owners in so little mileage? Very odd.....but maybe it is ok.....who knows. Try to find previous owner and chat with that individual. Otherwise, take it out for a spin. Worse case scenario, you spend $25k (a lot of car for that money) and if it isn't up to your liking, sell it for minimum loss ($5k-$7k I'd assume).
Good luck.

I never had any issues and I bought mine low mileage too (38k) def a good price compared to what I paid. Im now at 70k, I think the guys having issues must be hammering the car day in, day out or tracking it. Only routine maintenance on my end, I am selling mine just as clean, no accident for a similar price

I dont worry if the number of owners on a history report is high for the age of the car. From experience, the number of owners on a check is sometimes off, and the actual number is less
I'd definitely confirm it was actually a minor accident

I can vouch for that. My 3 owner is350 lists as a 5 owner. It moved states twice, and shows an extra owner every time it was registered in a new state. Technically, I’m the 4th and 5th owner now lol.
