Default Staggered 18s question

I’m still trying to figure out if I want to run 18s or 19s. My buddy has a staggered set up with his 18s. 9.5 front 10.5 rear. But he says it higher speeds the car wants to wander and doesn’t feel planted. Do any of you other guys experience this? thanks in advance

I'm running 18x10 square so I can't comment on the staggered portion of this. I haven't experienced any wandering with this setup or stock. I'd be curious what tires and sizes he's running, as well as what his alignment is.

Thx for the input. He’s running 245/35 front and 275/35 rear, not sure about the alignment. What offset do you on your 10 wides?

245 / 275 is slightly stretched on a 9.5 / 10.5 setup. He should be running at least 255/285. he's also running a 35 series front and back which will rake the car, might have something to do with that "wander". I'm running ET40, ET42 is the highest you can run up front before the wheel will hit the control arm.

If I were to run a staggered set it would probably be:
18x9 ET32 with a 255/40/18
18x10 ET42 with a 285/35/18

Hey thx man. And what exactly do you mean when you say rake the car? I’m fairly new to the car scene. Trying to learn as I go.

Rake is when the front of the car is lower than the rear.
